Carolina Panthers star defensive end Greg Hardy has agreed to be placed on the NFL's exempt list.

Hardy, who has been convicted on two domestic violence charges, will not play or participate in team activities but will receive his full $13.1 million salary.

The Panthers made the move Wednesday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the Minnesota Vikings made the same decision with embattled running back Adrian Peterson.

I wonder if all the NFL thugs and abusers are holding this "reckoning" against Ray Rice for the publicity he brought to the issue.

I would be more than happy not to do MY job for the $13,000,000+. Strange punishment.

It's like a cop or a civil servant being put on administrative leave... only at a higher pay rate.

I guess it’s better to pay him his full salary than to pay a bunch of lawyers when he sues only to pay him his full salary anyway....

I’m still trying to figure out why the NFL is responding to criminal matters concerning their players...

They aren’t law enforcement....they are a sports league....

Let law enforcement work out punishment and justice ...

What ever happened to due process.?

Same exempt list for Peterson.

Get paid. Let controversy fade.

Not yet, mostly because McDonald has not been formally charged with anything yet. But I do think the 49ers may do a “trial” deactivation this week and then wait for what the legal system does next before contemplating putting him on exempt status.

Because their employee in this case, is a convicted wife beater. Rather than suspending him with pay, fire his dumb a $$ under the “morality clause” that surely is in the contract.

According to NFL, "The Exempt List is the same one that Peterson landed on earlier in the day ... The designation requires that Hardy remain away from all team activities while on the exempt list."

You folks don’t get it. The NFL is methodically being destroyed by leftists. All of this is part of their agenda.

How many other companies fire their employee for being convicted of domestic violence...?

Unless they are sitting in jail... not many...

EEE, you are right. They never liked it but it was part of the American fabric and culture so they went along. Same reason Bloomberg smiled and waived at the July 4 hot dog eating contest every year.

They (leftists) view themselves as enlightened and think they can change human nature through gubmint or social engineering. Like the non violent evolved humans in the second Planet of the Apes movie.

Cultural decline. What happened to the John Wayne American hero movie characters who would fight dangerous bad guys but wouldn’t even think of hurting women and children?
