Explain this to me...

Posted on 12/05/2014 6:07:19 PM PST by CanadianBloodAmericanHeart

Why has nobody in the media on either side, at least that I have heard, claim that the Democrat losses in the midterms were caused by the public angry at them over causing the government shutdown...how have we let the media always claim this is a Republican only issue...whilst I sip some tea I will read your answers...

Piles. They contracted piles pretty much all at the same time.

Left good, right evil.

Whatever is done by Congress, the media seeks to hang Republicans on it. Simple as that.

The word to use is ‘Throw the bastards out’. That’s what the midterm election is all about.

It doesn’t fit the scripted narrative.

The GOP, not any member of it, say that either, and the reason they don’t is because they are purposely using the government shutdown as an excuse as to why they will not do anything to stop Obama.

Before it was oh we are only 1/2 of 1/3 of government.

Well, now they are not 1/2 of 1/3, they are 2/3 of government, but oooh we still can’t do anything.

It’s the same thing as Mitch McConnell saying we are going to repeal Obamacare root and stem.

No you aren’t, Mitch. You are a liar, and so is the rest of your party.

It boils down to this.

There are not two parties in this government. They are all members of the same club, and this two party fluff is a bunch of nonsense designed to make us think we have power when we have no power at all.

And the media is not simply assisting democrats, they are assisting government, which includes both parties, and all of them are in cahoots against all of us.

And that is all there is to it.

The media makes ALL it’s money from consumer spending.
Government spending subsidizes consumer spending.
So the media blames who ever wanted less government spending.

The Republicans give the media the least profit, so they get the blame- for whatever.

I doubt the shutdown had anything to do with it.

I think it has more to do with the repeated exposures of how utterly psychotic the democrats really are.

Because we no longer have a “national media” that is not controlled by the government...except of course in the so called “alternative media” .

We citizens often have conversations amongst ourselves and our neighbors, absent government oversight, and that includes refugees and immigrants.

And we are not as stupid as our “leaders” think we are.

When a mere fraction of the population participates in voting, and a large number of them are wholly ignorant of basic civics, it’s heard to read much into what we see and hear when it comes to government. Our country will do best when it has an elected congress that knows the difference between serving and being served, and an educated, virtuous population capable of distinguishing the same.

We are not ever going to get there.

That very same government is and has been purposely manufacturing a base of absolute morons that know nothing about anything.

And seeing that effort not moving fast enough is now importing the same from south of the border in order to perpetuate itself.

And both parties want that manufactures base, obviously, because neither party has lifted a finger to do anything other than assist its growth.

It seems clear to me that a centralized power structure over time draws the worst of the worst in terms of truly evil people, schemers, masterminds and madmen.

I do not believe at all that a free country can survive with a centralized power structure.

It was a mistake to create the federal government.

It was just a matter of time before that beast matured, and we are certainly there.

I do not recall proposing a specific goal so that we can “get there” in a world where human government is subject to faults and error. If you mean we will never have an educated population capable of living virtuously, we are closer to that than you might think.

Meanwhile, pray and think positive. No authority exists outside of what the Creator allows. Think local. Those who feed the monster will die by it. It’s a win-win if you know Whose you are.

I’ve corresponded with some liberal types who think the same way: nothing but defeat in view of world forces of this or that kind. If you live your life thinking only in generalities and painting with broad brushes, you will only cause yourself undue anxiety. Work within your means in your home and neighborhood, and do so with grace. The rest will take care of itself.

The reason I don’t think we will get there in terms of having an educated population capable of living virtuously, because there are far too few sources of such a philosophy.

People are bombarded from all sides with the exact opposite philosophy, which is precisely what this government wants.

There is almost no one teaching conservatism or virtuous living these days, thus there are few receiving that information.

Without that, any one who does think and live that way is going to be massively outnumbered.

I know what you’re saying. Only do not underestimate the potential. The American people are more virtuous than you might realize. For example, they are more fastidious in obeying traffic signals than almost any other nation. I’ve lived in many and various conditions in my lifetime, from suburbs to inner city, and there are many, many very good people. Even ones who do not subscribe to firm convictions in accord with biblical teaching. Keep your chin up, not because pride wins the day, but because God does. You have a lot to offer your family and community simply by realizing how much it matters to live virtuously.

The fraction of people who invite strife and discord is far smaller than those who want general peace and civility. Given the population that votes, it would not be difficult to establish rules that prohibit the uniformed, careless citizen from setting public policy.

Because we have a bunch of buffoons running the GOP. Cruz, Palin and a few others are trying to educate the public, the rest are busy fattening their wallets.
