Why are falling prices bad? Lower prices are good for people and their pocketbooks. What makes higher prices good? That is pure economic ignorance.
$2.89 in San Diego is a miracle.

A more realistic outcome of cheaper gas prices is folks would be more willing to drive further to buy from brick and mortar rather than wait for shipping.
$2.23 in Sioux Falls, SD yesterday, but in Minneapolis gasoline is 20-30 cents per gallon more... I’m betting it is the difference in gas tax.
Just filled up in Santa Barbara, CA...still slightly above $4.00/gallon.
I haven’t heard that the airlines have removed the surcharges they added when fuel prices spiked.
Nor has UPS. One of my favorite pet peeves....Like going into a restaurant and paying a 'plate surcharge'.
The good news is the Opecker Princes, South America Opeckers and Putin are getting kicked below the belt each day, when the price of oil drops again and again.
The price oil dropped even more while we were eating our turkey and dressing.

The Iranian thugs just yesterday were whining openingly about the low oil prices.
Because people will take those EEEEEEEEVIL Hummers out of mothballs and drive them again.

Amazon has an extensive freight network for transporting product from the warehouse to shipper distribution centers. Their costs from the shipper may not be tied to the fuel cost, but their own freight shipping costs are.
There used to be postings of his stuff here on FR on occasion but I think we got bored of his insanity. Regardless there are plenty of postings of the insane left here to fill many a bucket of vomit. I no longer automatically read here on FR some outrageous stuff the left spews that I did in years gone by. One tires of it .

Just my opinion——
1. Nothing, and I mean nothing that I have bought at Amazon in the last year qualified for “free shipping.”
2. The purchase price of the item one is buying on Amazon can be found for less at alternate sites. Amazon is putting the shipping cost into the price of the item so there is really no “free shipping”.
It took them decades to do it, but the airlines have finally aligned capacity with demand, and firmed up prices. I remember in the 90s flying on a lot of half full planes, that never happens anymore. Then again with $2/gal, more folks will drive.
Full disclosure. We bought nearly every gift for Christmas from Amazon this year. Every item shipped “free”.
A few of these things could only be found from one of Amazons sellers, the rest we could have found locally from driving around. The carrot for Amazon shopping this years was zero interest for 12 months.
The thing to realize is that these environmentalists would hate gas and cars even if someone invented a fuel that was harmless and free.
They would still decry all the resources being used in their manufacture.
They would still complain about the roads changing the natural environment.
Pollution is just an excuse.
What they really hate is that as it stands just any old schmuck can get in a car and drive 1200 miles to wherever they wish without clearing it with somebody important first.
They hate freedom.
$2.39 here in Virginia. $3.39 this past June. Saves $15.00 per fill up. $15, $30, $45, $60. If someone fills up four times a month then the savings is $60. For many, many people, the people I deal with on a daily basis, this is a big deal.
Helps businesses too. Unmitigated good.
