The more people who go to work for the Federal Gov (or state gov for that matter) the more we are going to be suffocated by regulations and laws of which we are unaware. The punishments are going to be more and more severe, the freedoms less and less.

If you don’t think the US is drowning in regulation, just remember that annual additions to the Federal Register and measured in pounds, not pages. The tree of liberty needs watering.

I know you haven’t been here very long. Just be careful complaining about excessive laws here.

A large amount of folks on FR seem to like *some* laws(the ones they personally like) and the jack booted thugs that enforce them, even if it means killing your dog, and possibly driving an armored vehicle through your home while doing it. Of course, they dislike “big government”, but they don’t mind when it’s the ‘big government’ they personally approve of.

People need to realize that they can’t have it both ways....

That’s my rant for the day. lol

This is not a government of laws, it is a government subject to the whims of only one or a few people.

Laws are subject to review and a question of whether it is to be applied arbitrarily and blindly, or whether it is tempered by reason and circumstances.

There is the spirit of the law, and there is the letter of the law, two quite disparate characteristics.

Most of those people are on the government payroll, in one form or another.

Bet the rent.

Ignorance of the law is no defense. That has been the rule forever. Evidently this is a strict liability law. If people could get away with “no intent”, there would be far more breaches with little or no remedy.

Yes, it was a very “emotional” experience. And I have always liked Unser, but so sorry.

Ignore this guy. He thinks the word "Freedom" means license to do drugs. "Liberty" to use drugs is about the only freedom these libertarian types seem to think worthy of discussing.

If you believe that drugs are a threat to society, then he puts you into the "Jackbooted thug fascist Dictator opposed to freedom" camp.

Libertarians cannot refrain from being childish about their pet drug issue.

Cops are revenuers for the Welfare State who jack up innocent civilians attempting to legally go about their day. They do not enforce the law against criminals.

That’s 53 years of experience and observation for ya.

And lots of folks here hate me because I finally figured that out.

Sorry, but this sounds a whole lot like these insane “Zero Tolerance” policies we see in schools where a mom packs a plastic butter knife in little johnny’s school lunch so he can spread his peanut butter on his toast and they end up arresting and banning little johnny from the school forever because the school has a “zero tolerance” policy about weapons.

Your government sponsored WOD did nothing but create more government control, more laws, more regulations, more government bureaucracy. The government unions love it, as they created and built more courts, more prisons, more police and on and on...It expanded the size and role of government dramatically.

Yet the same exact people who created this epic assault on America, left our violent chaotic borders wide open...

This is true and just the precursor. The goal is to get
as many of the working class (the employable) to
unintentionally break the law so they will
have a pool of more desirable inmates.
The inmates that the corperations
will need if they plan on making a
profit when they eventually
privatize all prisons.

You have to get a $6 day use pass to park in the Tonto National Forest in Arizona. The Dems don’t have a monopoly on overregulation.

"Libertarians cannot refrain from being childish about their pet drug issue."

I am a libertarian and I don't use drugs, but I recognize a slippery slope when I see one. When a person's actions hurt another person, punish him. But, please, LEAVE ME ALONE! The individual is being legislated out of existence.
