Thanks for the (newly discovered?) video on Secretariat’s awesome 31-length, track-record smashing, Belmont victory. The vid didn’t play for me at first.

Got to meet and talk to his groom when I worked at Belmont in the 70s. His nickname was “Shorty”. He also groomed Riva Ridge. My best friend at the time worked for Secretariat’s trainer’s son, Roger Laurin. RL trained Great Contractor. Lucien Lauren trained both Secretariat and Riva Ridge.
