More dreck that the critics will applaud and no one will see.

A lot of these festival films aren’t seen because they don’t play outside of big cities. Small town theaters flat out refuse to exhibit anything other than mainstream fare.

Off topic perhaps, but, my impression of the Oscars in recent years, is that these art house type films get nominated over more mainstream movies. I have not heard of half of the Oscar nominees in recent years. These movies have not played in my local multiplex.

Just saying, years ago, I was always aware of the movies and stars in awards shows, even if I had not seen the movies. Is this a recent trend or am I just out of it???

There’s been a change in moviegoing habits. The most popular films of every year are inevitably that year’s Batman or that year’s Avengers...etc. Anything other than those behemoths are now considered ‘art house’. It’s ridiculous.

I was just in Hollywood this week and I don’t think the rest of the country knows how funny this town is. The second I crossed far enough up LaCienega, all the billboards (and the place is filled with em) have TV shows on them with the words FOR YOUR EMMY CONSIDERATION on them. So Hollywood. I Had a fun night but I’d never want to live there.
