His name was Sonny Kim. A great guy with a wife and three kids. He will be sorely missed.

Sorry for the lack of details, but my connection is molasses. They recently have been adding new officers on the streets to stem the violence. Such an experienced officer, he will be missed.

“CPD lost one of our best today," Blackwell said. "We lost a brother. But right now my heart is broken more for his three boys who lost their father and his wife who lost her husband.”

Met him down at Lunken Playfield playground some time ago.

Really nice guy. Down to Earth, funny. Took his job seriously but wasn’t egotistical at all.

Just a guy that had a job to do.

Really sad.

Sonny was a great guy known to me and many other current and former LEOs here in the Greater Cincinnati area. A lot of good people are mourning him right now. 27 years on the force.

He was responding to a 911 call about a person in the street behaving strangely and waving a gun. Whetzel Avenue in the Madisonville section of Cincinnati. He was wearing body armor and still he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Interestingly, in their first couple of years, the Washington Nationals had a pitcher named Sun-Woo Kim. he was known as “Sunny Kim.” When I saw the slain officers name, I thought of him.

He wasn’t a very good pitcher.

I bet this doesn’t get nearly the response that Charleston did.

I wonder which race hustler will be the first to accuse someone of racism for bringing up this incident.

Even a round which doesn’t go through a vest can kill if it stops the heart from trauma impact. It is always sad when a good man is lost to senseless violence. He seems to personify what it means to ‘protect and serve’ ...

Our house is almost exactly between Terrace Park and Madeira. When I’m here, just about everything I do is within a 5 mile radius.

I don’t need to go much farther out, except for the airports.

The city has issues but I try not to notice.

Probably :-)

Can hit the Marvin Lewis house with a well thrown football!

Or the old Albers grocery stores owner’s house with a well thrown can of corn!
