We lived in Cincinnati, Rose was a rookie, baseball was king, jobs were plentiful, the ballpark was the major outing, and the Braves were in Milwaukee. What a great childhood.
Didn’t they dump many of their most costly assets this year?
Off the roster, not off the books. Dodgers are still paying players not on their roster over $40 million!
You put the whammy on him.
Every Dodger fan should know.
The last thing you want to ever say is: “Hey, the freeway is moving right along!”
We talked about Carlos Carrasco’s no-hit bid until he lost it with 1 strike left. But we Indians fans never learn.
Nope. He won 363.
Kershaw is awesome. Granderson led off the bottom of the seventh with a hit. Kershaw is now pitching the bottom of the ninth. One away. Kershaw can be the first pitcher in the Dodgers in 100 years with three straight game 10 or more strikeouts without a walk. Age 27 he is already one of the greatest of all time. )Strikeout number 11.) Greinke is even better. Amazing. (Ball game is over. Complete game shut out.)

I agree. Mattingly is horrible, since he just rides on the Yankee fumes. The expensive media contracts started by McCourt hurts the lower income fans who cannot watch on tv. I can’t even watch the Dodgers play on MLB dot com even though they are in New York.
Yes, the Dodgers need new pitchers: CJ Wilson, Shoemaker, Cueto, Hamels, etc. It is too bad Billingsly did not work out.
Spahn and Sain, then pray for rain.
Good news. I am an Astros fan, and he ys a local guy. Played for our home town Sugar Land Skeeters minor league club
Here's a tidbit about him you may know: he seldom pitched against the Ebbets Field Dodgers, who were all righties except for the Duke.
Here's another. Frank Torre was his Braves teammate and brought his younger brother Joe into the clubhouse. When he introduced him to Spahn, ol' Warren blurted out, "Boy, are you fat!" (H/T Bill James)
I'll test your memory with this one:
Wilmer David "Vinegar Bend" Mizell
I watched him pitch in St. Louis back in the 50s.
Suitcase Simpson
I didn’t remember that one, probably because he played mostly for American League teams.
