Poll: Donald Trump Leads GOP Field by Double-Digits, with Double the Support of Jeb Bush

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump addresses supporters during a political rally at the Phoenix Convention Center on July 11, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona. Trump spoke about illegal immigration and other topics in front of an estimated crowd of 4,200.

GOP hopeful and real estate billionaire Donald Trump has double the support of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and leads the pack by 14 points, according to a new Economist/YouGov poll.

According to the poll, 28 percent of registered Republican voters picked Trump as their first choice, meaning Trump has nearly doubled his support in two weeks.

Only 14 percent chose Bush as their first pick, though The Hill notes it’s expected he will win the nomination.

Thirteen percent chose Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson rings in at seven percent, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93%

at five, Sens. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80% ,and Sen. Ted Cruz (96%CR)

at four. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie garnered three percent support each.

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry trails at two percent, along with South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)

. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal earned only 1.2 percent support.

Trump, however has the highest unfavorability rating of all the candidates. His tough talk annoys some voters while attracting other hardcore supporters.

“Florida Senator Marco Rubio is now the best-liked GOP candidate. 63 percent of Republicans view Rubio favorably, and just 17 percent are unfavorable,” writes pollster Kathy Frankovic. “Trump’s 42 percent unfavorable rating from Republicans is the highest negative rating given to a GOP contender ....

Calling all the anti Trump trolls on FR to tell us how bad and irrelevant these polls are and how dumb we are for supporting and believing what Donald Trump is telling America!

“Expected by whom!? “

A mix of people, including those of us who have come to feel they have little choice or impact into who gets thrust upon us. There has been a sense of resigned inevitability.

People sure do love this Trump guy who is friends with Hillary, has donated to Hillary and wouldn’t mind Hillary for President.

Also it seems everyone has short term memory issues as it was Trump who said Romney was too extreme on border issues. It’s as if they think Trump is serious when he just repeats everything good conservatives have been saying for years, to side track us!Perot 2, the insurance plan and distraction from Cruz/Walker/Fiorina that the Clinton’s need!

Sideshow Trump - the WWE of politics.

For that matter, out of curiosity, what Republican President has done the best job in appointing Supreme Court justices?

Who are these 14% that would support Bush? Are they consulting surviving members of Hitlers psychic team?

Not an anti Trump troll, no dog in the fight yet. Sitting on the fence watching.

I do have one question, What is Trump’s solution for the immigration problem?

I heard his message and agree on some points. Anybody have any links where Trump discuss how he would fix the problem...

One other note: Any candidate who can not stand on the stage and debate Trump does not deserve my vote.

I think we hear “How” they will address these issues at the debates.....no use revealing your cards too early...the idea is to get the public engaged...and they are.

You say that yet Trump was on national TV this morning calling Shrillary a criminal and that she shouldn't even be running for president. So how do you square his words with your cockamamie assertions?

Also, you seem to be stating that Donald Trump, with his massive ego and his billions of dollars, would allow himself to be used as a tool by a shrill, unlikeable far-left anti-American marxist old hag like Shrillary?

You are not the only one implying that Donald Trump is some sort of "stalking horse" for the Democrats. But the more one looks at the facts, the more ridiculous this scenario becomes.

I have wondered the same thing. They must be calling the Fox News team and polling them.

Wish the debates were here sooner, but I understand you do not want to set up easy targets for the left to demigod against. Right now they are just guessing who to pick at.

I do remember reading history where you have a person who is able to speak and lead that end up leading their countries down the wrong path. That is wide I am interested in plans to fix the country.

We’re all interested in what plans will fix this country....but frankly nothing will get fixed as it now stands...therefore a clean sweep of Washington and fill positions with those who can, will, and have the ability to do the fixing is of course first priority.

Trump and Cruz want to see that and the only ones I hear wanting to upset the “cartel” as is said now, that is currently riding the wave of personal gain.

Well....I'm not sold on this Trump thing....I mean, a guy that's been a dimocrap (or, at least a liberal) his whole life until he decides to run for president..? I don't know...for me, it's a tough sell.....

I like Cruz......if he doesn't do the right thing, he's Dad will kick the crap out of him....

:)

That’s my point. None. I trust Cruz. But none of the others. I’m not sure that Trump would appoint true conservatives.
