Trump Wins Post-Debate Spin; Blasts Frank Luntz as 'Low Class Slob'

Whatever you might think about how well Donald Trump did in Thursday night’s Republican Primary debate, there is no question the billionaire businessman is winning the most important part of the process: the post-debate spin. The Narrative on almost all the morning shows centered primarily around how Fox News was gunning to take out Trump. If anything, debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly is taking on the most damaging post-debate water.

The very first debate question, asked by Bret Baier, was obviously aimed directly at Trump. For weeks, Trump has refused to dismiss the idea of running as a third party candidate should he lose the GOP nomination. When Baier asked the field of ten to raise their hand if they would not agree here and now to support whoever won the nomination, regardless of what you might think of the question, the whole world knew a target was being placed on Trump’s back.

Although all the initial questions to all 10 candidates focused like a laser on their primary weak spots, Kelly grilling Trump over tweets calling women “pigs” and “slobs” is being singled out Friday morning as a hatchet job. This spin is obviously going to work in Trump’s favor in a primary where voters are thoroughly and rightly disgusted with both the media and the Republican establishment.

Using the enormous power of his Twitter feed (3.52 million followers), Trump is hammering away at Kelly (one of his retweets referred to Kelly as a “bimbo”)already this morning, but also at Frank Luntz and his Fox News focus group. The focus group of GOP primary voters not only declared Trump the loser but a big loser who fatally damaged himself.

” Trump gave Luntz the now-famous Trump treatment and accused Luntz of stacking the focus group deck against him:

It would be interesting to confirm if Luntz ever came calling to Trump to sell him some of his “consulting”.

I love how Trump just keeps hammering the posers. I did think it was obvious that Luntz’ “focus group” was cherry picked.

Let me see if I understand this.

Trump is being pummeled for contributing to democrats.

But the Republican donors are doing the same thing by hedging their bets and contributing to Hillary and the Republicans but everyone looks the other way.

What have I missed here?

I think the GOPe is lost in the thickets of their own supposed cleverness. People have been voting for years for lesser evils at best, and outright obstruction at worst. It’s not, and let’s be clear here, that anyone is buying the token support and “symbolic” votes b.s.

I believe there is a tweet from Trump on this forum about that very thing - Luntz wanted to be hired to do consulting for Trump or something. I read the tweet, but can’t remember the details.

Notice how NOT ONE of the supposed Trump “supporters” in the Focus Group made any comments about Megyn’s below the belt attack questions?

If I was a Trump supporter, I would have raised my hand and asked Luntz WTF was that?

Trump is “equal opportunity” when he slings back. He treats women just the same as he treats men.

I mean, they give Trump the same disingenuous treatment and contempt that they give the base, and expect Trumps numbers to go DOWN when he fights back?!!

Obstruction. That is a great word that may sum up why people are so interested in the Don. They are looking for someone, anyone who will throw a big fat monkey wrench into the unfortunate cultural revolution we are all suffering under. The republicans have clearly demonstrated that they will not do it.

Being asked to account for your previous on-the-record statements and positions is not "below the belt." Were they tougher on Trump than on the other candidates? Sure. But I didn't think any of the questions were out of bounds.

Don't want to be called out for saying stupid things? Don't say stupid things.

He really might want to tone down the name calling, but I guess it is part of his schtick.

I don’t think it’s just obstruction, I think it’s more that Trump cuts to the chase and isn’t eternally wedded to any dogma. He’s is not going to just sit there, obstructing, he’s going to wield the bully pulpit more effectively than anyone since Reagan to take a broom to Washington.

I have seen Hannity a few times now have a room full of ordinary citizens interspersed with a handful of regulars from his show, and the session does very much resemble a typical Luntz circus of morons.

But even on his regular format, sometimes his guest commentators are so friggin’ dumb that I just can’t even watch.

For instance, on Hannity radio or TV, Tamara Holder comes on, media device goes off. She is the most vacant female I have ever heard speak. I do not need to know her thoughts on anything ever.
