Given all the security breaches that have plagued The android platform, I’m not sure I would want to trust it for such a role.

I’ve never had a security issue with any Google phone, having purchased one of the G1’s when they first came out, and been constantly on Android since then. All of my phones are patched to prevent the most recent exploit, but that was one of the primary reasons why I went with the Nexus line of phones.
