Millionaire heir to the Frito-Lay chip fortune, 44, dies at home just two years after he won battle against leukemia

Carter Lay, an heir to the Frito-Lay potato chip company and leukemia survivor, died on Thursday, aged 44.

The father-of-two was found in his Los Angeles home after police received a call that there was an unconscious male at the residence.

Police found Lay in his bedroom unresponsive. CPR was administered but unsuccessful and Lay was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy report is underway, but his death is not believed to be suspicious, according to TMZ.

If he won the battle against leukemia, it doesn’t look like he won the war.

RIP, poor guy.

If hes only two years out, and hes dead, i would say its way premature to call him a leukemia survivor.

Maybe it wasn’t the leukemia. Heart attack perhaps?

If he had chemo, who knows how much damage it did to his organs? Drugs are powerful and they may cure whatever they are intended to, but in the process they can damage health in other ways.

In any event, may God rest his soul and comfort his loved ones.

My best friend in high school died of a heart attack in July. He had suffered from cancer but was in remission. I have no idea if the two were connected.

He was 68 tho not in his early 40s.

The man cashed in his chips!

Whatever it was, he could not resist ... just one!

Maybe it was the spectre of the Frito Bandito, that he saw in the mirror.

(He was a leukemia survivor, and recently, so i doubt it was a relapse.)

RIP too early. Lay’s yellow bag chips are the bomb, and great with some green onion chip dip. Burp!

I know of Pennsylvania’s Utz, but haven’t seen them around here yet. If I do, I’ll gladly try them. I’ve had New England Kettle Chips, but they were too thick for my taste.

My mother-in-law won her battle against ovarian cancer, but the chemo weakened her heart. She died of heart failure at age 54 one year after being declared free of cancer.
