The Way To Eden is perhaps the only truly dated episode of the original series. It's a stinker, for sure - in fact, the last few episodes were among the worst. Well, Requiem for Methuselah was sort of okay, because "Nomad" was reincarnated with a few more bits of plastic added - and of course, there was a hot chick.

I just watched the last episode, Turnabout Intruder, a few nights ago. It was the first time in years that I'd seen it - and the first time since the digitally re-mastered scenes were added. The revised closing scene of the Enterprise continuing on its course was excellent and very fitting. Too bad nothing could be done to salvage more of that cringe-inducing episode. There was a minute or two of well-written dialogue - Scotty's comments to McCoy outside of the court-martial proceedings. Everything else could be burned.

Next year’s “Star Trek: Beyond” will mark the 50th anniversary.

There are fan hopes that Shatner will be given a role as this may be the last opportunity to have the original Kirk reprise his role as the cast is dying off quickly.

But that was a big part of what made many of these old shows so entertaining. You could laugh with them, or AT them. Either way, they dwarf any of the non-funny or interesting crap of the past few decades, in terms of entertainment. No imagination or comedic ability whatsoever today.

The old shows were my favorite. Sadly Then politics changed it.

... the film [Undiscovered Country] portrays the Klingons not as thugs, but as misunderstood casualties of human bigotry. Kirk and his crew, says Gorkon’s daughter at the Enterprise banquet, represent a “homo sapiens-only club,” devoted to such chauvinistic values as “inalienable human rights.” “Why, the very name,” she quips, “is racist.”

Gotta love Star Trek! As Mr. Sulu says “Going where no man (and his partner) have ever gone before.”

I always call the one picture the ‘Space Burrito’ episode.

Well, that's nicer than what my hubby calls it; which is the Space Turd episode.

Oh, I thought with your first comment that you was implying she was stupid (blood...draining from brain...) But you apparently meant YOUR blood was draining from your brain at the sight of her. :)

I love her looks, but she also has a refreshing down home quality about her. She seems to be that gorgeous, yet 'cool' (personality wise), girl in your school or town that most guys can only dream about having as a girlfriend.

I think Forbidden Planet (1956) was the original “Star Trek.”

Yes, she’s one of those strikingly attractive girls that when you see her, your body instantly goes all tingly all over. EEEEEE! Kinda like love at first sight, I guess. Ya don’t find gals like that on a daily basis, but you always hope to...

“In the authorized biography of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry notes that Forbidden Planet ‘was one of his inspirations for Star Trek.’ [23]”
