The day before Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s highly anticipated bout against Manny Pacquiao, agents for the United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) conducted a surprise drug test on Mayweather and found evidence of an illegal IV being used on the boxer, according to Thomas Hauser of SBNation.
The fluids that Mayweather's camp says were administered to the fighter saline and vitamins to combat dehydration are not banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which sets the standards used by Usada. The use of the IV, however, as well as the decisions by Usada to not notify the Nevada Athletic Commission and to retroactively issue a use-exemption, raise several red flags.
The New Jersey Athletic Commission first learned about the use of the IV on May 21, 19 days after the fight, according to the report. That was when Usada informed the commission that a retroactive therapeutic use exemption (TUE) had been granted to Mayweather. SBNation learned that Mayweather did not apply for the TUE until May 19, more than two weeks after the fight.
The issue with the use of an IV is that it can be used to "dilute or mask the presence of another substance that is already in the recipient's system or might be added to it in the near future." In this case, Hauser says, Mayweather received 750 milliliters of fluids, "equal to roughly 16% of the blood normally present in an average adult male."
WADA bans the infusion of more than 50 ml in a six-hour period unless "received in the course of hospital admissions, surgical procedures, or clinical investigations."

Sounds like the fight should be ruled a no contest then.
Look at the eyes of ANY lot level sprinter right before they run..
They ALL are hoped up on some thing.
I think blood, hair, and saliva samples should be taken from all runner within minutes of finishing a race, and extras samples should be kept to retest in the future to ensure they were using some thing “new” not being tested for at that time.
All they did was bypass the stomach
Pacquiao also did not disclose an injury he suffered during training before the fight.
So, we have a case of an injured boxer fighting a boxer using a banned substance.
That is fair enough, I can’t argue with that. Any injury should have been disclosed.
“And this is a problem?”
Read the article? It’s a tactic they can use to hide doping.
Dilute the blood right before the athlete may get tested, and it is harder to detect the bad stuff.
Hey, I’m ahead of the curve!
What “fight” ?
They looked like two kids who didn’t want to get involved in a fight.
What you have is a pile of crap.
Which is what boxing has been for a number of years.
I was a huge boxing fan, but quit watching about ten years ago. Too many “iffy” refs making “Iffy” calls. Crazy scoring!
I don’t even know. I did not bother to watch it.
I like MMA, boxing not so much.
In MMA, I really cannot stand any fight or fighter who continually avoids mixing it up, so I doubt I would have enjoyed this match up.
“All they did was bypass the stomach “
And dilute whatever else he had in his blood.
