Sorry for the vanity post - the more I see of this man, the more disappointing he becomes.
He would have never been pope back in the 80s.
RIP John Paul II

Watch him when the cameras are on him and then again when they aren’t. He has a Pavlov dog type reaction to smile when the camera is on him. As soon as it is off him his smile immediately disappears and he gets an almost evil countenance in him. My gut feeling is that Pope Francis is not a nice person and is evil more than he is good in nature. If you look at his statements and actions it’s evident he’s more wordly than godly. Not a good trait for a Pope.
As a Catholic, I can say I’m indifferent to his coming here, whereas when John Paul II came, it was magnificent.
Was disappointed that he didn’t tackle the whole pedophilia thing, but that he did a great thing. Reagan, Thatcher and he.
Now we have this kenyan, muslim/gay/marxist America hating #### in the White house who lights it up with rainbow colors and is responsible for a caliphate in the middle east. AND is going to shove gay preachers, a nun who believes in abortion and euthanasia and some other nut in the Pope’s face.
I HATE the Americans that voted for him. Sorry. Some day it may go away.
A person that craven doesn’t deserve the respect of decent people.
Someone who cannot take a stand for good and against evil doesn’t deserve to be Pope.
Definitely! The Head Of Church turned his back on the suffering people of Cuba and abandoned them.
How can any religious Catholic accept Pope Francis as a good person, as a Christian?
Indeed. The greatest Pope in our lifetime.
JP2 understood the end-game of Socialism and made clear statements against the power of the state. Some people don’t share that understanding, sadly.
Months ago, in Philly, they kept playing a clip of him. In this clip you could see his dark underwear through the white robe. After seeing it a dozen times, I started thinking of him as big Fat ass. It won’t change in my mind.
I hate to be shallow, but he doesn’t look like a nice person. Something twisted looking about him.
yup..i attended a Catholic HS (went to Catholic school for 17 yrs) when John Paul II came to NYC, went to see him at a youth concert at Madison Square Garden in order to skip school and it turned into a life changing experience...I was immediately taken by the man...was in St Pats church some 25+ years latter with my 3YO daughter praying for him as he lay sick at almost the hour he died...
this present clown i won’t even turn on the TV to watch when he’s in NYC never mind take a ride to see him...
What a shame. The way he’s being used by the Traitor, who invited all sorts of depraved people to meet with the pope at the White House.
He is a useful idiot (sorry God) for climate change and Marxism.
I’m Catholic, and maybe I’m missing the bigger picture, but it seems everyone wants the UN to be in charge of the US.
And they can go straight to he!! Try sending UN troops here to enforce anything.
“How can any religious Catholic accept Pope Francis as a good person, as a Christian?”
Because the order of Albino Assassin Monks will slay them if they don’t.
Obviously.
Freegards
Did any of you note his anti-Marxist comments in Cuba? His appeal to the dissidents? His subtle but clear rebuke of the Castro regime? The press didn't report much of that, including the fact that Francis gave Castro books and recordings from Castro's prior orthodox priest teacher when he was a boy - an attempt to call him back to the Church.
Have some charity and give the guy a chance. He hasn't been in country 24 hours and most of you are just repeating the same negative and false bildge that the left has put out there. The Pope does not support the gay rights agenda. He does not oppose free enterprise. He does not oppose air conditioning (except in the Pope mobile where it is superfluous), etc.
Pray for him! Pray for all Christian leaders. But piling on him and dragging him down is not Christian.
Blue helmets make fine targets.
I don’t think we’d be speaking Russian but you have the right idea about him being extreme left.
I haven’t been a practicing Catholic in decades. Being a conservative; I find many of the things he’s pushing like globull warming and taking in more refugees to be against what I know to be right.
I’m still a Christian though so he gets a pass but that doesn’t mean I have to support him and won’t.
lol
Hi CWW - I don’t think being disappointed in and criticizing a Pope who tacitly condones Marxism and dictators, while criticizing capitalism is anti-Catholic. The world needs a Pope who is willing to call leftism what it is - a subjugating of the individual rights given to us by God to the whims of those in power; and in its extreme form of Communism, Socialism, Marxism etc...an enslaving of populations to serve the rulers. Pope John Paul II was not afraid to call this evil, and without a doubt provided a moral cause to fight leftism; and the free world won.
He needs to speak with more clarity, and drop the “Who am I to judge?” nonsense (which is being used to skirt every commandment now). Jesus spoke with moral clarity, not vague generalities; He told the Apostles they could forgive sins, not that they shouldn’t judge.
Perhaps Pope Francis is God's punishment on us Catholics for our sins.
