Court decision paves the way for Australian-style gun ban.

On Monday, the Court of Appeals for the Second U.S. Circuit issued a long awaited decision on the constitutionality of the most drastic gun control law in U.S. history, the New York SAFE Act of 2013. The Second Circuit ruled that nearly all of the law does not violate the Second Amendment.

The SAFE ("Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement") Act was presented to the New York State Senate and passed into law in 15 minutes. No debate was allowed, and senators did not have time to read the bill before voting it into law.

PROMISE to gun owners.

This Italian from NYC will get on a plane and come to any of your houses if they REALLY come to take guns with armed agents.

Give me a gun, and I’ll be right beside you.

The Second Circuit ruled that nearly all of the law does not violate the Second Amendment.

Nearly all of the law does not violate the Second Amendment. Did a 3rd grader write this or might there be some considerable mental gymnastics to script in some bias via the order of words. How about, "The Second Circuit ruled that some of the law violates the Second Amendment."? But that would not fit the story line would it.

didn’t work out too well for them.

i’ve gotten the impression that southerners and other areas have more than one gun. And good ones. And they are good at using them.

I have shot guns once But give me the one with the red laser and i could be of help.

did well with the M4 when i shot it. Did well with SCAR too.

not too well with the glock

Who are these mouth breathers that vote for things that they have not read? That SOP is getting a little old.

When the people fight back against the Feds, they will come to see how easily toppled the Feds really are.

I don’t know how old you are but could you tell me the last time you heard a presidential front runner espouse how they thought gun confiscation in another country was working so well? And it didn’t hurt them in the polls?

We hold that the core provisions of the New York and Connecticut laws prohibiting possession of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity magazines do not violate the Second Amendment, and that the challenged individual provisions are not void for vagueness. The particular provision of New York’s law regulating load limits, however, does not survive the requisite scrutiny. One further specific provision — Connecticut’s prohibition on the semiautomatic Remington 7615 — unconstitutionally infringes upon the Second Amendment right. Accordingly, we AFFIRM in part the judgment of the District Court for the District of Connecticut insofar as it upheld the prohibition of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity magazines, and REVERSE in part its holding with respect to the Remington 7615. With respect to the judgment of the District Court for the Western District of New York, we REVERSE in part certain vagueness holdings, and we otherwise AFFIRM that judgment insofar as it upheld the prohibition of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity magazines and invalidated the load limit.”

The court is a Leftist court in a Leftist city (Manhattan) in a Leftist State. There is no way this should stand anymore than anything else the Left is doing within our societal framework today. It’s all unconstitutional, and it’s about time the right stood up, and put this leftist revolution down.

Then you need to get a couple of guns and practice. It’s not that much money.

I find my time at the range to be a Zen time. Not many things can focus my mind the way working with a rifle can.

And that’s exactly what they’re planning on: seething “FMCDH!” rhetoric, even vows of standoffs.

But...nothing of the kind will happen.

They’re not going to “come and take them”.

They’re going to cut off the supply chain.
Slowly.
No new ones.
No replacement parts.
No consumables.
No imports.
No interstate commerce.
No bequeathing them to offspring.
No “cosmetics”.

Ya ever notice we don’t have new full-autos? You can’t buy a P-90, MP-7, PP-2000, G-18 or others made to _rely_ on burst fire. You can’t 3D-print a Thor PDW. The ammo required for those to work properly is unavailable. We’re blathering in this thread about “FMCDH!” regarding a design a _half_century_old_, oblivious that the state of the art has moved well past us.

And this Court decision helps take another step in choking off the supply chain. Standard parts are now deemed “not protected” because they marginally “enhance lethality”, and their prohibition doesn’t quite ban the core design.

They learned from Waco (the cult, not the bikers). 248 dead to enforce a paperwork violation doesn’t turn out well for anyone. So they won’t confiscate.
They’ll just make sure that, over time, there won’t be anything to confiscate.

Learn from Sun Tzu. Don’t fight their front. Fight beyond their front.
Go after 922(o) and NFA. They won’t be fussing about barrel shrouds when you can print your own Thor PDW.

As was pointed out in the article, the supreme court is 4-4 with justice kennedy being the swing vote. If the libs know that they have the votes they will see this case. We are 1 vote away........... 1 vote away..........
