Tonight Megyn Kelly did an entire segment on both Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin's criticisms of Donald Trump for his attacks on Ted Cruz for bucking the DC establishment. It begins with a short report on Trump criticizing Cruz over the weekend with Kelly playing audio from both Limbaugh and Levin's radio shows, and then Kelly asking Stephen Hayes and Guy Benson to respond.
Stephen Hayes suggested this could signal a change in the race for Trump if Limbaugh and Levin (and other conservative radio hosts) start advocating for Cruz over Trump as the only true conservative between them.
Watch at link.
Glenn Beck is awful with his pimping of Cruz.
“Stephen Hayes suggested this could signal a change in the race for Trump if Limbaugh and Levin (and other conservative radio hosts) start advocating for Cruz over Trump as the only true conservative between them.”
Won’t work with me.
Trump should heed the general ideas of Rush and Levin on this subject. In my opinion.
ANY Criticism of Trump is big news at fox news.
Watch Rush try to walk this back today. Should be amusing. Ratings you know.
Trump should not have taken the MSM bait
But having said that... Trump DID NOT “attack” Cruz...
It was nothing.
Calling him a maniac in Congress? So what - He IS A bit of a wild man (compared to the others) and THATS GREAT - we have applauded that
But I hardly call that a scathing criticism of Cruz by Trump, and the media are playing it up for all its worth
And Limbaugh and Levin should not have joined in. This is a surprising mis-step all around. The media caught them.
Cruz and Trump could end it today by making a mutual respect statement (as they have done before) and saying “we refuse to be goaded into a fight by the media”
They can advocate for him all they want.
If he manages to win, it will be yet another election where the Democrats beat the snot out of the “nice guy” with their media apparatus, while talk radio spins its wheels complaining about press bias and GOPe “suppression” drowning Cruz’s “brilliance”.
I’ve yet to remember the last time these shows managed to get a president elected, but hey, they likely will enjoy all of the cool press coverage where these networks start all of a sudden caring that they exist.
Well as long as they help the narrative, that is to say.
After the behavior of the Republicans in Congress and the Senate, I have real trust issues with all politicians.
The ultimate ratings whore story: Rush Limbaugh attacks Donald Trump! Every TV show knows either Limbaugh or Trump are good for ratings. Together they are awesome! We only reconnected the cable TV to be able to see the debates live. Can’t wait until they are over so we can unplug again.
.
“All” great leaders must have the capacity of listen to “genuinely” good advice ...
Rush and Mark Levin are trying to HELP Donald Trump ...
THIS EPISODE is the “first” real character test for Donald Trump the candidate ...
I pray to God that Donald Trump passes the test ...
He needs to apologize ...
Period.
.
They smell blood and see this as an opportunity to stick a fork in him. Be careful FOX.
You mean like voting with the establishment on TPA like Cruz did before he voted against it?
RUSH: So I just got a flash note from Cookie, who is monitoring all of the cable news networks out there as we scour constantly for intriguing audio sound bites, and she says — what’s she say here? I want to read it verbatim: “MSNBC cannot stop reporting that you turned on Trump today.” You know, can I tell you all something confidentially? I don’t want you to tell anybody. It’s just between us. If you tell anybody, I guarantee you I’ll hear about it. The media, they think I have the ability to make or break any of these candidates. They can’t. They think I have the moral authority — now, don’t tell anybody I said this, ‘cause I don’t want them to think that I know this. (interruption) Well, no, they’re not listening here. They’re not gonna hear about this, Snerdley, they never listen here.
If MSNBC doesn’t tell ‘em I said this, they’ll never know, or Media Matters or whatever. But they’ve been waiting. They’ve been waiting. They’ve been hoping.
They hate Trump and they’ve been hoping, and they think only I can do it, so they think that my question — I did not throw Trump under the bus today. I did not — what does it say here? “Turn on Trump.” I haven’t turned on anybody. I haven’t thrown anybody away. I haven’t announced support for anybody.
All I did was raise a question about the way Trump went after Cruz. That’s all I did. And I said it disappointed me a little bit, because it sounded like the same kind of criticism we would get from the establishment Republicans, which Trump is running against. So if you hear somebody say, if you’re out there on social media, “Limbaugh turned on Trump,” you now have it from the horse’s mouth that I didn’t. And if you’ve been listening you know that I didn’t.
But so eager are they for somebody that they know has the credibility and the moral authority to do it, that they’re hoping, they want the world to think that I did because whether I did or didn’t, they think reporting it will equate it. (interruption) Do I think Trump will attack me now? (laughing) No, if he did (imitating Trump), “You know, I’ve always thought Limbaugh was overrated. Claiming he’s got the biggest audience out there, but hell, nothing compared to what I had on TV. It’s radio, nobody pays any attention, he’s overrated, he’s third-rate.” Yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me. No, it would. He’s not gonna do that. I didn’t turn on anybody here!
END TRANSCRIPT
Donald Trump is a left wing nut case.
Should Cruz apologize for his remarks at a NY donors meeting when he said that Trump and Carson did not have the judgment to be CIC? And to compound things Cruz initially denied he made the comments.
Donald J. Trump â @realDonaldTrump .@tedcruz should not make statements behind closed doors to his bosses, he should bring them out into the open - more fun that way! 7:53 AM - 11 Dec 2015
Mr. Trump made clear that he considered Mr. Cruzâs remarks as an attack and warned that he would regret the decision.
Not hardly. Limbaugh and Levin are out of line, they should be apologizing.
