Breaking: This GOP Candidate Is About to Drop Out of the Race (Huckabee)

Bombshell new reports have suggested that a major GOP candidate who was once looked at as a possible frontrunner is preparing to drop out of the race.

According to The Political Insider, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's campaign is going so poorly that he has significantly cut the salaries of his staff. This is typically a sign that someone's campaign is about to come to an end.

Hogan Gidley, the campaign's senior communications adviser, confirmed the salary cuts for senior staff members on Thursday. However, he claimed the decision was made several months ago, which seems unlikely.

"We made some adjustments to senior staff salaries several months ago because we wanted to put those resources into people in Iowa," Gidley said Thursday.

Reports appear to contradict this though, as it appears the salary cuts were made in recent weeks, coinciding with Huckabee spokeswoman Alice Stewart's abrupt departure earlier this week.

Though Huckabee won the Iowa caucuses in 2008, he is currently polling between 1% and 3% in the crucial state. It appears that his days in this presidential race are numbered.

Its time he dropped out, his candidacy has no particular purpose except as it gives him face time and helps, perhaps, with his Fox career.

I like him as a person, and as a talking head. And it is at that level that he has greatest influence. That is the platform God has given him.

I don’t forget that he several times attacked people who wanted to secure the border as unchristian, a few years ago. Nowadays, he presents himself as a border hawk, but he wasn’t always one. I realize that people do evolve on issues, I know I have. But this is the main reason I never paid his candidacy any attention.

Otherwise, if anyone watched the first tier debates, he acquitted himself well every time he got a chance to speak, and he is an effective spokesman for our side. But on TV, not in office.

He should stay in. I have it on good authority (the "mainstream" media) that Trump's support will collapse by September, October, November, December. January! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Huckabee will probably have a top spot in Trump’s administration.

Too bad...I’d love to Huckabee and Hillary in a cage match.

Two Arkansas hillbillies going for blood...

This would not be “bombshell news”. Jeb dropping out maybe, of the also-runnings, but nobody else. Eh, maybe Christie too, but that’s it.

He should have dropped out after Labor Day. Same with Santorum. Both Carly and Rand Paul showed early promise, but, alas, their motors have never regained that status. Dr. Ben is not meant for such a job description anyway. Save him for a cabinet position, same as Sarah Palin. And Jeb!?, what is there left to say other than “It ain’t workin, and Jeb can’t fix it.”
