Donald Trump: Mean Spirited GOP Won't Win Elections
Newsmax ^ | 11/26/2012 | Ron Kessler

Posted on 12/26/2015 3:11:05 PM PST by conservativejoy

Ronald Kessler reporting from Washington, D.C. , The Republican Party will continue to lose presidential elections if it comes across as mean-spirited and unwelcoming toward people of color, Donald Trump tells Newsmax.

Whether intended or not, comments and policies of Mitt Romney and other Republican candidates during this election were seen by Hispanics and Asians as hostile to them, Trump says.

"Republicans didn't have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians," the billionaire developer says.

"The Democrats didn't have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren't mean-spirited about it," Trump says. "They didn't know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind."

Romney's solution of "self deportation" for illegal aliens made no sense and suggested that Republicans do not care about Hispanics in general, Trump says.

"He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal," Trump says. It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote," Trump notes. "He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country."

The GOP has to develop a comprehensive policy "to take care of this incredible problem that we have with respect to immigration, with respect to people wanting to be wonderful productive citizens of this country," Trump says.

2012

Yeah I knew about this but St Donald doesn’t need to be consistent. That’s for mortals.

I figured if some on here were going to criticize Cruz for being kind to some exploited kids, they needed to revisit some of Trump’s positions.

not being able to work would make many leave.

as long as they couldn’t get welfare either.

i’m not sure how you’re for wholesale deporting but against “self deportation”

how is he going to make it sound kind to “Hispanic” Americans and stupid white Americans

Some never stop to think that if Trump had been in a position to vote on his stances, we might already have amnesty.

So here is Ted Cruz at around the same time period proposing mass legalization of illegals and opposing deportation and self-deportation:

“Asked about what to do with the people here illegally, however, he stressed that he had never tried to undo the goal of allowing them to stay.

“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,” he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.”

And this is history that Ted Cruz is currently lying to his supporters about.

Do the Cruz bots on this website really want to have this fight?

This article is a month old and was posted to convey the false narrative that this makes Trump weak on immigration and pandering to minorities.

Everyone that is not brain damaged already knows what Cruz was doing in those amendments. Even Jeff Sessions has explained it. My 3 year old beagle gets it by now.

This article is from 2012 and quotes Mr. Trump verbatim. This was his position in 2012, a position he did not have to back up with a vote or he would not be running for President on the opposite position now.

Like I said, if Trump had to vote on his position then, he would not be running 3 years later taking the opposite position.

WHO HAS THE TRUMP PING LIST! WHO HAS THE TRUMP PING LIST!

This really happened. Trump really said that

See my tagline. If you can’t handle the truth, then don’t start it.

I’m glad you are now a Christian. I do not believe Trump was born again on immigration after taking this stand just 3 years ago. A lot of folks are being taken for a ride.

Most of the GOP idiots think being good to Hispanics and Asians means taking care of illegals who don’t vote.

Maybe Trump means taking care of legal Hispanics and Asians....you know...the ones that really feel the brunt of illegal immigration.

I really hope he means everything he says if he gets the nod.

but I grew up with the guy in NYC. he got his engagement ring for free as a promotion. that’s great.

but he’s not going to put a lot of money into this race

and the generals will need money.

think i’m wrong? i’m not.

he’s not a great businessman because he plans on spending half a billion hard earned dollars on an election. he brags about spending almost nothing now.

maybe it is a great new strategy. I don’t know

posted to show that trumpees could care less about any of trump’s positions and that he shows no consistency to support anything he says now. Besides, trumpees adore him because he is the meanest mouth in the west.
He makes me cringe just thinking about him.
He is older than Clinton and will never beat her. Young kids less than 30 have the sense not to fall for him according to polls.
