In his victory speech, Bernie said New Hampsher ... instead of New Hampshah
As a native Bostonian, I am acutely attuned to the Boston-like accent of Bernie and THAT was a surprize to me
OK ... sorry to highjack the thread
carry on
“...What’s more, Part D’s reliance on market competition has kept both taxpayer costs and premiums well below projections, and the expanded access to drugs has saved Medicare money by keeping seniors healthier. Trump’s plan would destroy this highly successful program.
Phony numbers aside, what’s most troubling is that Trump’s proposal is word for word out the Democrats’ playbook....
...We are hard pressed to think of a previous GOP presidential candidate — much less the front-runner in what is supposed to be a conservative party — who has openly advocated price controls on a major industry. We live in interesting times.”

Thanks for posting, this was a very interesting and informative article.
Tag line.
Trump could start wearing a faux military uniform with a bunch of ribbons and boards and fringe and his victims, er I mean his voters, would love it.
We’ve reached the Maduro, Il Duce, phase of America
Well...I guess out of the billions of people on earth, it’s not possible for any two of them to have the same opinion on an issue...without being accused of “copying”. /sarc
I second the tag line comment and I am done suffering fools.
Butthurt eh?
Negotiating the best price does not equal price controls. The author may want to watch an online course on economics. And why would Congress not allow competitive bidding on drug prices for government programs? Pharmaceutical donations? The politicians get millions and the taxpayers get reamed for billions. Let the bidding begin!
The old multi-billionaire capitalist is a socialist routine. Guess IB wants to follow the National Review strategy.
Pray America wakes
Trump is so smart that he can set drug prices to get us great deals once he is POTUS.
I would favor laws preventing the drug companies from selling drugs in the U.S. at a price higher than they would charge anywhere else in the world. Other countries would have to contribute to R&D on a par with us.
He’s not advocating “controls”. He’s advocating that the fed, as a large purchaser, negotiate pricing.
That’s what countries around the world already to with pharma countries—leaving us holding the bag as the suckers paying retail.
Is it price controls when the government negotiates the price down from retail? (The government is buying thousands of units)
I don’t think so. It is called smart business. Something Donald wants to bring to US Government
The only people who don’t like this are the people stealing billions from the American Taxpayers
Trump and fact don’t often collide in the same sentence.
I sincerely doubt Trump is imitating Bernie Sanders. It just makes good business sens. Trump has ordered thousands of commodities for his hotels and apartments for decades, buying containter loads of televisions, sinks, other furnishings. Any responsible buyer knows how to drive a bulk price — it’s Business 101. Not something they do in the U.S. Senate.
Trump said nothing about price controls.
You are stretching the truth by trying to link him to what Bernie wants.
You started with your own premise and then tried to prove it.
You failed.
