In the spirit of the season, Asad Shah, a Glasgow newsagent and a "devout Muslim"*[see update at the foot of the page], decided to send out an Easter greeting on his Facebook page:
GOOD FRIDAY AND VERY HAPPY EASTER, ESPECIALLY TO MY BELOVED CHRISTIAN NATION X! BISMILLAH...
Let's Follow The Real Footstep Of Beloved Holy Jesus Christ (PBUH) And Get The Real Success In Both Worlds xxxx
Less than four hours after this ecumenical greeting, Mr Shah was savagely murdered outside his shop by his co-religionists:
The victim was found seriously injured on Minard Road, Glasgow, and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died on Thursday.
An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, told the Daily Record: "As I drove past I saw two men standing over the victim.
"One was stamping on his head. There was a pool of blood on the ground. It was horrific."

Bismillah!! We will not let you go. “Let me go!”
I feel like saying a bunch of un-ladylike words right about now.... >:-(
God Bless his soul.
A religion that beckons already fallen men to do their worst... what could possibly go wrong?
I have a hunch that Jesus was very pleased with this man’s respect.
This could have been a sign of Jesus dawning on his willing soul. Of course the devil didn’t want to put up with that and arranged his death, but if he believed, he got into heaven. “Be faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life.”
A great post for a crazy World.
This is sad, because Ahmadis are the only hope, if any, for a reformation of Islam. And they are a minority and are regularly killed by Sunnis - our allies - who are in cahoots with ISIS. By that standard, this is not really a killing of a co-religionist.
A martyr really.
Islam is a military tactic and not a religion, let no politician tell you any different
