I'm pretty sure with KFC they changed the oil.

I'm guessing to a non-trans-fat option.

Now it leaves a very strange after-taste, especially after taking a sip of Pepsi.

Same thing that ruined Taco Bell shells.

We used to fry in pure coconut oil.

So the shell stayed crisp and didn't fall apart.

I just wish our government "betters" would leave us the hell alone and butt OUT of our food choices.

Who the hell thought fast food was "healthy", even back when it tasted good?

Nowadays I rarely eat fast food because it tastes like crap.

At least when we ate it 20 years ago it had some flavor.

The chocolate doesn’t melt and hardly any malt flavor. I used to love them too.

You're right. I thought the taste was off, but now that you mention it, the chocolate doesn't melt. I like to put one or two in my mouth, let the chocolate melt off of them, and let the malt ball dissolve in my mouth. But the last ones I had wouldn't do that. Makes you wonder what the hell they did with them.

I remember my first McDonald’s. It was around 1961 in Ft. Walton Bch.

They were 15 cents which was cheap even back then. The big surprise was they were really good. The fries were even better.

Around 5 years ago, I tried McDonald’s again. It had been many years but I was really really surprised. They were awful. Maybe I just got a bad one but I can’t imagine anyone eating there but obviously they do.

They are out of business. But the Big Chef was to die for.

Yes, Burger Chef was absorbed by Hardee's who promptly destroyed whatever "good" there was in Burger Chef.

About 15 years ago, Hardees' had a revival of the Big Shef as a promotion.

I went through the drive-thru so I could enjoy the goodness.

I asked the employee how the promotion was going.

She said:"I can't believe the response. Some guy just came in and bought a dozen!"

Indeed. They have destroyed their products.

I didn’t know that. My first job was in the Burger Chef chain. When fresh it was quite good. Put on a few pounds there. The Big Chef sauce was three parts mayo, one part sweet relish, one part rehydrated onions, and in our case because we made it in a big batch, one table size bottle of Tabasco Sauce.

You do know why they introduced “New Coke”.

They wanted to replace cane sugar with HFCS. But knew there would be an uproar, so they introduced “New Coke” instead, knowing people would beg to go back to something that tasted remotely like “Classic Coke.” Then, Voila! Classic Coke with HFCS, and everyone rejoiced!
