I loved them in their original form, but admittedly could only eat a few a year. But they were delicious.

Yep. Aldis. 90% cacao and jalapeno flavoring. I have killed other Aldi’s customers for the last bar.

New Coke is up there at the top as the worse marketing disaster ever

I would bet many of the people at the top who decided to change the taste of Coke probably never drank the stuff. It's all marketing and sales to many of those people. If they thought they'd get more sales by having Coke taste like liquid axle grease, they'd do so.

I hope you enjoy it. I do recommend adding sweetener and using half and half. I serve this version to friends and family and they love it.

Worst was when they stopped using cane sugar and substituted corn sucrose and artificial sweeteners

That decision to use fructose over natural cane sugar ruined many a confection and soda. You can thank the U.S. sugar industry and a tariff to protect them for a lot of that ruinous change.

Prob some “know-it-all MBA” figured out a way to use cheaper ingredients, reduce the size, and pump in more High-Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS).

I sort of a restaurant buff and my best restaurant experiences is when the restaurant is brand new and the owner is looking to build a clientele. Once the restaurant is full of paying clients, things start to change as the owner now focuses on profit rather than gaining market share.

You're exactly right. In our area it usually takes only 3 - 9 months. Often the chef has a falling out with the owner at about the three month mark. Then Ernesto takes over the kitchen and that's it. Maybe one in ten new restaurants makes it a full year, because rents around here are excessive.

Las Vegas buffets follow the same principle. Go to a new one right after it opens - because the accountants start screaming at about the three month mark, and by nine months the food becomes inedible. :)

The reason for the new coke was that Pepsi was doing blind taste tests and they were beating coke badly. I actually took one of the tests in front of a store in Chesapeake, VA.

Coke did the same thing with new coke and it was chosen by a good majority over classic coke.

People are interesting tho and they had a fit over the new coke and refused to buy it.

That may be true, but so what? There are many products that outsell other products quality having nothing to do with things.

I usually defend corporations, but they have some glaring faults. One of them is catering to popular opinion. I doubt people who like a certain kind of whiskey would like it much if some corporate execs changed the taste because it wasn't selling as well as some other brand.

It's all dollars and sense. There's no founder or single owner to hold the line and keep things as they are. Mostly faceless executives are quite willing to ruin something good just to make a dollar more. Which is one reason popular culture is so awful...the people at the top are only concerned with dollars and cents. Quality of the product is largely irrelevant.

Again, I doubt many of the execs involved in the decision to change the taste of Coke drank much of it themselves.

I love holiday candy. Jelly beans, candy corn, Christmas ribbon candy, etc. Guess I’m a traditionalist. Never did like the Cadbury creme eggs but daughter loves them. I’m not much of a chocolate fan.

I used to love KFC. Gags me now. Don’t know what they did but it tastes nasty to me. We have El Pollo Loco here and their chicken is flame grilled and good. If I want chicken I go to El Pollo Loco.

I think switching from lard to canola really hurt them, it does taste odd now, it actually seems sort of stale and the crust is kind of limp.

“And I don’t know what. But Kentucky fried chicken isn’t the same as from when I was a kid either. Something just doesn’t taste the same. Im sure the hot shots have screwed that up too”

Bought a nine piece meal deal last week, all legs and thighs. You pay extra for white meat/breasts. The chicken pieces came from MAYBE 3.5 pound hens, pathetically small. They do still serve up some very good cole slaw.

I just started eating dried figs. They are awesome with no added sugars, fats or carbs.

Yep. Aldis.

Yeah, that's the place that has the shopping carts for a quarter.

No wonder so many of them bag ladies have one...that's cheap.

Anyway, I'll check it out.

The only chocolate I've ever seen with jalapeno is "Sport"...made in Germany.

Good stuff.

Aldi’s veggies are very good too, but the meat is very high priced.

Sometimes there’s a really good sale on meat. Fruit and veg are a good price, but quality varies depending on how recently it was stocked.
