Cruz Campaign in Meltdown Mode as Heidi Goes MIA, Cruz fails to Sue or Actually Deny Cheating Rumors
Right Side Broadcasting ^ | 3/29/2016 | RSBN

Posted on 03/29/2016 4:41:08 PM PDT by Signalman

RSBN is doing its best to keep you updated in real time about what certainly seems to be the effective end of the Cruz campaign, as the multiple-mistress scandal continues to linger and fester.

As of this afternoon, March 29, the Cruz campaign appears to be spinning out of control, if not already finished. It may be just a matter of time.

Not that Big Media is particularly doing much to do anything but bury the story. The trumpophobic media of course is relying on Cruz to remain in the race as its last hope of possibly preventing Trump from receiving the 1,237 delegates required for the Republican nomination.

The big news of the last day or so, make no mistake, is that Heidi Cruz has gone MIA. She canceled her New Jersey campaign events that were scheduled this week, including a fundraiser in Morris County scheduled for Wednesday.

Additionally, she has not tweeted since Friday, the day after the Cruz-infidelity story broke in the National Enquirer.

Additionally, yesterday Cruz added suspicion by hamhandedly attempting to avoid a question on the infidelity issue. Instead, he figuratively hid behind the skirt of Carly Fiorina.

When Cruz was asked by a reporter from DailyMail.com yesterday to tell “on the record that you’ve never been unfaithful to your wife,” Fiorina awkwardly jumped in, with a subsequent exchange going as follows:

Fiorina: “If I may…” Reporter: “No, I’m sorry. I asked the Senator that question.” Fiorina: “Well, I’m gonna comment, OK?” Reporter: “Do you have first-hand knowledge of his marriage?” Fiorina: “I’m gonna comment. This is an example of the media playing to Donald Trump’s tune.”

Fiorina then tried her best to change the subject, saying “Donald trump is a serial philanderer, by his own admission. And in a week when we have had a terrorist attack in Brussels, a shooting on Capitol Hill, the president of the United States in the baseball stands with Raul Castro, and insisting that he be photographed in front of a portrait of Che Guevara with the two Castro brothers, we are talking about a scurrilous, ridiculous piece in the National Enquirer. Why do you all dance to Donald Trump’s tune? Let’s talk about the issues, please.’

Given another attempt to answer the specific question, Cruz responded with “Sir, I recognize that you love going into the gutter with these kind of … [several parties talking at once].”

Cruz did say, thereafter, that “the National Enquirer story is complete garbage. It is total lies. It was planted by Donald Trump’s henchmen.”

Cruz of course was using legalese there, which could have of course referred to any National Enquirer story. He did not answer the reporter’s actual question about his faithfulness.

As Trump emphasized during his appearance on The Savage Nation yesterday, it was Marco Rubio’s campaign which had been peddling the Cruz-mistress story for some time, and Trump himself had nothing to do with its promulgation. In fact, Trump (who of course wasn’t there 24/7 and thus cannot be entirely sure that there was no infidelity) expressed to Savage that he thought the allegations were “garbage.” Note, as was the case with Cruz also using the term “garbage” to describe the allegations, the use of the word “garbage” does not necessarily mean that one thinks the allegations are untrue.

Meanwhile, the Cruz campaign has resorted to attempting to deflect attention from its candidate’s meltdown by playing up the ridiculous-to-the-point-of-almost-hilarious charge of “battery” in Jupiter, Florida against Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. This “battery” consisted of a slight inadvertent brush-up against publicity-seeking, now-former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields when both parties were on a crowded stage. Cruz’s campaign manager Alice Stewart attempted to exploit the bogus charge against Lewandowski, saying, apparently not jokingly: “Unfortunately, this abusive behavior seems to be part of the culture of the Trump campaign.”

As for the division of the Cruz campaign know as The Glenn Beck Program, Beck said yesterday that he’ll drop Ted Cruz “like a hot potato” if the sex scandal allegations turn out to be true.

Beck added that “But if you’re a serial guy, like five of them during this campaign, that’s insane, a totally different person han we think Ted Cruz is…” But, laughingly, Beck pointed out that Cruz “doesn’t have enough game. We’re not talking Tom Cruise. It’s Ted Cruz, have you watched him?”

Beck has taken in recent weeks to referring to Cruz as the “anointed one,” beseeching Christian voters that it’s their religious due to vote for Cruz.

Some Cruz supporters are certainly troubled by the way the story is playing out. According to Tanna, one now-former Cruz supporter: “He’s so done. His entire campaign has been based on being a moral elitist being above and more GODLY than the rest of us and I took the bait. Shame on me. Last time I fall for that preacher crap.”

In sum, whether the adage that “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” applies to the Cruz-infidelity story is, for now, for you to decide. We at RSBN suspect the soap opera known as the Cruz Campaign will be providing a final answer very shortly.

It’s simple to find out — but you have to be interested IN finding out.

Ah yes, the haughty insult tool ... you’re such a good example of Freerepublic. NOT

It wasn't very nice, but do you know why he said what he did about libel law?

A public figure must prove "actual malice" to win a libel suit, and that suit can take years and many millions of dollars to win.

Actual malice means that the publisher was more than just wrong; the publisher must either have KNOWN the story was false or, at least, have actually harbored a serious doubt about it. This rule effectively shields a publisher from liability of some (often well-bribed) liars come forward and lie. (And even if the libeled public figure wins, like I said, victory can come years later at the cost of millions.)

So the "Cruz didn't sue, so it must be true" reasoning is faulty at best.

You have an opinion fashioned by you loyalty to the Cruz image. That is admirable. But the methodology of slinging insults at anyone not agreeing with that is suspiciously divisive.

Yeah but Trumps threats of filing lawsuits based on his own words in political ads and then not doing it is a sign of integrity! That there is a Man’s man. A leader of men!

You betcha! Long live lying Donnie, his royal Eminence. The fearless leader of the Trump Republic guard.

All hail king donnie. Blessed be his name.

So where is Heidi? Says she is missing. If she truly is missing and hiding since Friday, when affair accusations came out, then I think that speaks volumes.

They could if they have her password. But there are also pictures of her in Wisconsin today.

Odd, I did several searches and can't find any pictures of her in Wisconsin today.

Only see two tweets, are they hers?

Not really. She has two kids and is off to Wisconsin for the campaign. Give a Mom the benefit of doubt that she spent some parent time with two little girls having Easter.

My opinion about the "he didn't sue, so it must be true" has dick to do with my loyalty to any candidate. (Yes, my top candidate right now is Cruz, though.) It has to do with my knowledge of the law. Public figures who are libeled are often less harmed by NOT suing than by suing. And I'm not the one who insulted you; some other guy did.

I'm sorry, I tried. Or rather, I'm sorry I tried.

“Billy Sol Estes” really? What do you think about the theories that Lyndon had something to do with with the JFK assassination?

There's a link to pictures of her in Wisconsin in this thread.

I can't say for sure she put out those two tweets. Then again, I don't see much proof for most of what is posted on this entire topic.

I concur (with what you mean; what you say is sarcastic). Trump often threatens to "probably" sue someone. He rarely follows through. When he does sue for defamation, it often backfires spectacularly (see #1 in http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2013/03/the-lawsuits-of-donald-trump/273819/), but don't tell his most devoted acolytes that. Not that they'd listen, or care if they did.

Of course, not everyone pulling for Trump is dump or blind to his sore spots. Most here aren't. But many are.

And I was referring to the poster who wrote the insult, the one to whose defense you appeared to come. I did not send any kind of insult your way.

Just so you know, I believe the publishing of such an insinuation as this regarding Ted Cruz, in a presidential nominating race, raises to the level of malice aforethought if not true. And immediate filing would be quite successful, and there are thousands of lawyers who would rush to take the case.

And the unidentified (so far) women must be sweating bullets as I am sure they will be identified in due time. Both ladies identified so far who swear they never did the deed with Cruz, why haven’t they brought suit? Good point VerySadAmerican.

There's a link to pictures of her in Wisconsin in this thread.

Very Odd again, clicked on the link and it's a "Bing" search and it shows those pictures dated 1 or 2 days ago.

Did a Google search and it shows those same pictures dated 5 or 6 days ago.

They're the same pictures dated very differently, odd.

Specificly state their case. What did the N.E. accuse them of?

Hint: It didn’t. It implied it based on stating rumors that was brought to them.

Campaigns and politics are about perception. And whether he committed adultery or not it looks like Cruz is handling this very ham handedly. It wouldn’t cost him anything to mention a lawsuit against the NE. And it wouldn’t cost him anything to state outright that he never cheated on Heidi. If he did cheat and the NE has evidence of it then he is toast. But by not more specifically denying the infidelities he adds more fuel to the fire. If he’s hoping for some triumphant acclimation of innocence that’s not likely. Frankly I’m not sure what Cruz is doing here but it’s only fanning the flames.

And I would support Cruz against Hitlery, adultery or not. He’s an ivy league lawyer and a parasite, but he’s not Hitlery. Much as I detest the Pubes their “We’re not as bad as the Democrats” strategy will probably work again. And it makes me ill to contemplate voting for GOP scum. But.... Hitlery. No sane person could sit it out and let that evil evil hag achieve the Presidency. I’m no historian but I think you’d be hard pressed to find a single politician in our entire history as a nation who caused more harm to this country or was dogged by more scandals or left more ruined lives in its wake.
