I suspect there will be a revelation that meth labs were also found on the back acres.............This was likely a drug war.

Reader reiterated to the public that he doesn't feel it's a larger issue of public safety since one family was targeted, but added if anyone were to feel unsafe, they should "arm themselves."Hmmm. Not often you hear the police say that..

Sounds like the Cartels have gotten pretty attached to the US pot market.
Sounds like they consider honky competitors as UPPITY.
If robbed it was Leroy.
If not robbed it was Jose.
Would be my guess.

Crimes like this don’t happen in places where marijuana is regulated more like alcohol.

I wonder if this crime will ever be solved, because it appears that the murderer(s) deliberately took our everyone who could provide the police with information explaining motive and identifying suspects. And even if there is anyone left alive with that information, they may be scared to talk.

There is some pior indication of Mexican drug cartel activity in that area:
‘In August 2012, DeWine issued a press release saying law enforcement officers found “a major marijuana grow site in Pike County with suspected ties to a Mexican drug cartel.”
‘Investigators destroyed about 1,200 marijuana plants and found two abandoned campsites they believe belonged to Mexican nationals, the release said.’
