Its been a long time since I have logged in and I hope you are all doing well.
I would like to remind everyone that _No Polls Can Be Trusted!_
Please take a quick look at Clinton vs Dole as reference. One of our fellow Freepers managed to apply some math to an LA Times poll which showed something like 65% of respondents were women, and given the liberal tendency of many women the poll showing Dole losing by double-digits was hopelessly skewed. He used responses from other questions to derive his results showing the amount of women.
Polls can also be slanted in other ways:
Stop calling when desired result is reached.
Call a known list of liberals until the desired result is reached.
(Or simply cull the list until they like the numbers )

The skewed polls notwithstanding, Dole was another GOP-generated loser, meant to keep socialism going and Clinton in the WH. The GOP is a “useful idiot” of the Leftist tyrants.
Bob “it’s my turn” Dole was a joke candidate to me. Sure, I voted for him, the same way a lot of democrats will vote for Hillary.

That’s not how it works. Prior to the fielding of a poll, the number of completed surveys is established. Within that are Quota Cells designed to match the geographic area that is being polled.
The poll is not completed until the goals are met.

Most pollsters design a sample frame and purchase the sample from SSI or generate RDD sample in-house. No listed sample is used.
The importance of the latest polls is they are going our way. The attempt to demoralize us using rigged polls has miserably failed. I believe Trump is beating her much worse than the polls are showing so I don’t believe the polling either.
If they ever call me I’ll tell them that I voted for Obama the last two elections (gag!) but I’m voting for Trump this time.
Well what was that double digit number? Dole lost by 8.5 points. If the poll said 10, the poll was reasonably close. If it said losing by 13 points, you have my attention.

You are assuming an honest poll/polling company. That is a big assumption.
If, OTOH, you understand that many polling companies are not honest, that they will poll for anyone that pays them...and work to satisfy their customers, THEN you will see that you are looking at the distant past where honesty (of a sort) reigned.

Some were caught using established lists in years past. Legislation was passed to make polls more transparent but there is no policing that can keep them honest. Follow the money: “Who is paying for the poll?” We can safely bet that pollsters who work the numbers receive nice gifts months later quid pro quo.

I don’t think the intent is to demoralize “us” but rather to keep from demoralizing Clinton voters. If you look at primary participation, rally attendance, and social media followers it suggests Trump is doing much better than Clinton. If the media was reporting reality it would be a depressing story for liberals.

That’s a thought. If you remember 2 and 3 weeks ago it was over for Trump. 100 republicrats ask Priebus to stop funding Trump. The media was pushing the idea of a goldwater blow out. One poll in PA. showed hillary uo by 15%. Now Trump is ahead in 3 national polls and 5 points up in PA and they have shut up. But I hear you. I heard the total hillary crowd last month was 10,000 ( I dont believe it was that high) and Trump crowd totaled slightly over 100,000 ( I don’t believe it was that low). Hillary is so fatally flawed as a candidate that she can’t take even the lightest of questions from the press. She is an unindicted criminal, above the law, and she is the queen of lies. Also she has severe brain injury and seizures. How could she ever get a vote from a rational American?
