In a country of 320 million . . . I hear it everywhere. It ends with howd it come down to these two? or whyd we get them?
Wrong years. I said that mainly in 2012, but also in 2008 and 1996.
Another sentence is a now a common greeting among Republicans who havent seen each other in a while: What are we gonna do?
Peggy, you and I must hang out with different Republicans.

True. The comment I hear most frequently from REAL Republicans is “Finally!”

I didn’t read the full article, but maybe she means that 50% of the Trump voters will refuse to admit it afterwards. If so, that is good news—it would mean he gets 80 million votes. The most anyone has ever received was Obama with 69.5 million in 2008. Of course it is a little harder for a Republican since all the votes have to come from living persons.

agree! youre either out of touch, Peggy, or youre a damn liar like the rest of the dinosaur LSM. More likely the latter.

We got Hillary because DWS stole the nomination for her from Bernie.
We got Trump because he beat the crap out of 16 ruthless, angry, and extremely well-financed opponents.

"I hear it everywhere" and
"a sophisticated Manhattan man" tells you all you need to know of the value of Peggy Noonan's observations and opinions on Trump's presidential run.
For Noonan everywhere means wherever the elite and enlightened live. Or those places buffered from the engineered destruction of middle-class America in favor of a globalist model of privileged elites and dependent peons.

The case for Barack Obama, in broad strokes: He has within him the possibility to change the direction and tone of American foreign policy, which need changing; his rise will serve as a practical rebuke to the past five years, which need rebuking; his victory would provide a fresh start in a nation in which a fresh start would come as a national relief... He is steady, calm, and, in terms of the execution of his political ascent, still the primary and almost only area in which his executive abilities can be discerned, he shows good judgment in terms of whom to hire and consult, what steps to take and moves to make. -Peggy Noonan, Oct 31, 2008-
Sorry, Peggy, your opinion was, and is, worth squat.
