A woman has been charged after letting crickets and worms loose on a D Train in what she said was a piece of performance art.
Actress Zaida Pugh was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment, among other counts.
She is accused of causing panic by setting the insects and worms free inside a subway car on Wednesday of last week.
Pughs stunt freaked out a lot of straphangers. In the chaos, someone pulled the emergency brake and the train came to a screeching halt on the Manhattan Bridge, where it ended up stuck for half an hour.
Passenger Ezra Mechaber tweeted: Woman just let crickets out on the D Train as we went over the Manhattan Bridge. Panic ensued. Someone pulled the E-Brake. Stuck. New York.

In short, this dumb broad claimed she was putting on an act for her acting career. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Now she's off to perform in the production of ShawShank Redeemption, Live and uncut on Rikers Island followed by a rendition of One flew over the cuckoos nest in Bellevue I suppose!
Must be nice to be able to afford throwing away perfectly good food.
Luv crickets fried in butter and lemon....
Worms or maggots?
Jiminny?
They’re just not the same without Buddy Holly
A friend of mine brought some Crickets home with him from vacation(we don’t have crickets) , in a Big Gulp cup , he carried on the plane in plain sight(1980’s) , he said they must have died in his back yard
Seems like the guy who pulled the emergency brake should also be arrested.

Didn’t some other whacko do this same thing on a train in the last year or two?
The worms, not so much.
Bunch of sissies on that car. Crickets don’t bite or sting humans. They’re just crickets for gosh sakes.
Back in school, there would be cricket invasions every year. Zillions of them everywhere. A biblical plague of crickets. They’d be everywhere. In the streets, in houses, all over school so that we’d squish and crackle walking down the hall. Then they’d start dying and the stink was horrendous. You couldn’t escape it. Those idiots on the subway should be plopped down in the middle of some serious crickets.
Worms are good. Great for fish bait and garden soil. Those eviro nuts in NYC should have been scrambling on the floor to gather the worms for their roof top garden.
Yeah, that wasn't cricket.
Very good point, I forgot about that. I appreciate them in my garden; I'm out in a rural area and they're a good thing.
