His point about the racial disparity is a solid one, but it isn’t because of any kind of white privilege. People are being massacred and Trump is the only one who’s talking about it.
Crock of horse manure. Whites for the most part have fled out of Memphis. Those left live in gated, guarded communities and the smart ones know where to avoid. Beale St is so bad they closed it to traffic, you need a wrist band to get in and are sent threw metal detection in all the establishments on the street. Even decent blacks are starting to flee. All they will have left are those who can’t move and work for the city and are forced to live within the city limits to do so.

long unruly his beard always looked good)...but he’d slam the door,announce “phone company” and “bring the phone”...people would respond,open the door with phone in hand....he’d hold up and open a plastic bag, they would drop in the phone, he would spray in some Raid, twist tie the bag and say .”tell your neighbors to pay the phone bill”...and off he’d go. He never had a problem...they either thought he was a mental case, or a stone cold killer.
I was in Memphis about three years ago. Beale St. was closed to traffic, but I never had to wear a wristband or go through any metal detectors. That I could see at least.
I hope the author continues his walks thru the ‘hood. I will get a good laugh at his getting beaten and robbed.
