Heres a feel-good hunting story for you. A 103-year-old hunter bagged the biggest buck of his life, and his granddaughter was right there with him to witness it all.
On November 8, Clyde Roberts, a 103-year-old hunter, went out to his trusty old treestand and bagged the biggest buck of his life. He was hunting with his granddaughter, Christin, who said, I will never forget it.
Papa like to tell everyone that I got so excited of course I did! Christin said. Not only had I been able to hunt with my 103-year-old grandfather, but I witnessed him take the biggest buck of his life. Most importantly I had the hunt of my lifetime with him! It was one of the most awe-inspiring moments of my hunting career. I will never forget it.
Her grandfather might just be the oldest active deer hunter in the country, and being with him on this hunt is a moment that Christin will be able to cherish for the rest of her life.
Christin posted a picture of Clyde with his buck on her Facebook, and in the post she wrote, the best part was when he knelt down and thanked the good Lord! If that doesnt send a chill down your spine, I dont know what will.
Congratulations on your buck Mr. Roberts, a great deer and an even better story to go with it. Keep hunting those bucks, sir!
You are absolutely correct. I have said that same thing to people who are appalled by hunting. I told that to a woman who is a vegan just a couple of days ago. She was sickened by hearing it. She had never considered that side of it.
We’ll assume you’ll stop eating meat (cows are kinda cute) when you’re maybe, what? 70? 80?
God put creatures here for us to eat, no?
I eat venison. Soak roasts in Italian dressing overnight, cover with bacon and roast.
That beautiful buck is a winter’s supply of meat for the table for the family. Venison is highly nourishing and delicious to boot. Take your wet blanket elsewhere. Cheers for grandpa!
Don’t forget the Rosemary!
Same here - getting up in a tree stand is even more remarkable than shooting the buck - to my mind anyway.
“thought it was necessary to take the life of one of Gods helpless creatures before he goes.”
Know what happens when hunters don’t keep the population in check? They overbreed the area and starve to death.
Yes, I understand. I just thought it was strange that just before he leaves this earth he wanted to kill something.
