THE SOLAR WIND CONTINUES TO BLOW: For the third day in a row, Earth is inside a stream of solar wind blowing out of a large hole in the sun's atmosphere. This is causing magnetic unrest and bright auroras around the poles. NOAA forecasters estimate a 35% chance of G1-class geomagnetic storms on Dec. 24th.
WHITE AURORAS? Auroras are usually green. Occasionally, other colors appear: red, purple, blue. One color that never shows itself, however, is white--that is, not until last night. "I saw white auroras over Tromsø, Norway!" reports veteran observer Markus Varik.
So will my turkey cook faster in my solar cooker?
Only if the sun is shining. What time are you planning to start? Not a big turkey, I hope;)
In the same site lots of erupting volcanos. None, thankfully, in the continental U.S.

Truly, in school we only learned about Etna and Vesuvius. I had no idea there are so many active volcanoes.
God is in control, so I’ll stop checking the internet and start planning my Christmas dinner.
God bless.
We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion year old carbon
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden...
I was on the ham radio yesterday and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, but I was only on 20 and 80 meters. I’ll try 10 meters today to see if there is any good propagation.
Then you finally showed up at Woodstock, in a bleary-eyed state of mind...
Keep my helium collector in tiptop shape for just such an event.
