Pubs have had 8 years to work up a health care program, even it were to return to exactly what we had before. Corker is correct. Put up something when you repeal Obamacare or don’t do it at all. There are tons of bills out there already. Pick one. If you leave in all the feeding tubes then you run up a debt which will bury Trump.

Is he going along with Rand Paul? I thought he was saying the same thing.

This makes sense. Rand Paul said the same thing. If we delay replacement for 2 or 3 years it will cost us trillions and we no longer have a budget. Replace at the same time of repeal

The proper replacement for RINOcare is a deregulated open health insurance market. No mandates. Interstate sales. Personal choice. Just like life insurance.

Corker is an absolute idiot.

Watched an interview with Rand Paul regarding this. He made the case that a replacement plan must be at the same time Obama care is repealed. He made a persuasive case.

Two primary reasons. One, without a new plan in place, the few remaining insurers are likely to pull out, and or go bankrupt. Two, the chaos that would ensue while we fight the Dems over any replacement plan will be hung around the Republicans neck.

I tend to agree with his assessment that it’s political suicide not to have a plan passed along with repeal. Now that doesn’t mean the plan should not be a move back to a more free market approach. But rather have that free market approach phased back in in an orderly manner.

Whatever one’s position may be regarding government’s level of involvement with health care, it’s a given that some of the more politically popular elements are going to be readopted. Not saying we should, it’s just where we are IMHO.

DJT needs to publicly strap Obamacare on the backs of our congressional elite and then sit back and enjoy the show.

Rand’s really a good guy. Personally, I think he’s the most intelligent and articulate Senator of the whole lot (though sometimes a bit wacky, of course).

yeah, i saw that too, and I agree that Rand made a VERY persuasive case about how things need to be done with respect to repealing and replacing obamacare.

The way the state party does things here, it is difficult to oust Corker or Lamar!, so I think we need to take over the party first.

He has been interviewed in depth by two shows recently. He emphasized the bill would be concise enough for both congress and the American people to read and understand before it is voted on.

He mentioned keeping 26 in parents home; covering previous illness; across state line ; large groups allowed to create their own plans ; and several other sensible changes.
He made sense why it should be ready in same time line as the repeal, and said with the 10-12 previously drafted bills he was spear heading the compilation and rewriting of a bill. It was very doable.

Didn’t these assholes vote to repeal Obamacare around 56 times?

What if Obama had called their bluff and signed it?

Oh, oh we were just joshing, Mr. President, we didn’t mean it...

Your post Is a well thought out response to my piece. God knows it is likely that to undo the damage it will take time, but it is necessary to do repeal fast and dirty, OR the Corkers will stall this out ad infinitum in committee. We must put fear into their comfortable lives, and others, by taking radical action.

There is more than reason involved in projecting political heat. Chaos,if necessary, needs to happen to give believability to the desire for change that is now required.

I am not an anarchist or agent provocateur. I do read the Constitution and the Declaration, which prescribes radical action to correct the actions of demagogues and tyrants.

It Is VERY unfortunate that we have allowed this situation to occur, but here it is! Now people will be hurt, but their is no alternative to be taken seriously by our elected officials.

There is a point reached when credibility becomes the currency of effective and honest government. I believe we have no alternative now, but to show we mean business.

Deliberately inducing chaos into the U.S. medical system is likely to kill hundreds of thousands and sicken millions and guarantee Republicans will never be elected to any office in our lifetime.

The Director of DSHS is a Trump appointment that will have authority to make decisions regarding thousands of rules and regulations under current law.

A simple reaffirmation of the Director’s authority in law, after repeal of the ACA will act, as a temporary safe guard against the most extreme cases you refer to in your reply.

There is no substitute for another TRULY affordable, comprehensive, conservative, healthcare law, that allows for universal competition, freedom to choose your own doctor, an end to the expensive special sweetheart relationships that exist between Pharmaceuticals the current administration, and both houses of Congress.

Any bill introduced by the GOP must simplify the procedures that that now overwhelm doctors, clinics, hospitals, and their suppliers. It must be a GOOD LAW that is the priority, rather than covering Republican tail, if they are criticized by the left. Good law = good partisan reputation!

The point is we MUST NOT be held captive by working under the current law itself! That will reintroduce all special interests back into the process. If the current law is not repealed first, any legislation introduced by Republicans will die by a thousand cuts in Committee.
