Sure. That makes sense. Hundreds of millions of Trump voters will suddenly make the connection, and realize their error.

in protest of reports that President Donald Trump is allegedly considering cuts to arts funding.

Let's put aside the obvious reaction to this -- that state sponsorship of "the arts" is one of the most Orwellian / totalitarian things imaginable. The interesting question to me is how does a Leftist honestly believe that cutting off funding to the NEA and PBS is a totalitarian move? Do they truly equate public subsidy with freedom?

During Obama’s reign, I watched lots of the old “Planet of The Apes” films.

Theatres want to ostracize 60% of their patrons? Sounds good to me. I haven’t been to a theatre in 5 years. Certainly won’t start now.

Screw that. The B&B Theaters in the KC area are running “The Princess Bride” on Thursday. Much better movie.

Shouldn't they also have a reading of "Animal Farm" which was Hitlary's favorite book as a child?

Yep, she wanted to lord it over all us farm animals. The person reading her part could do it wearing a pig's nose.

That’s funny. My book club read 1984 seven years ago and noted parallels with 0bama and the left.

Trump must be the most awesome president ever. In only one month, he’s created an Orwellian political society. There is no comparable precedent in the history of the solar system.

lol

Oh this is funny. With their speech codes and virtually signalling do they not realize THEY are the protagonists?
So much for their 10 years of college getting that humanities degree. They know NOTHING.

I’d be delighted to see “1984” on the big screen. It’s actually been in my video queue for a while.

I might even be moved to write the theater a nice letter, thanking them for reminding their clientele why it’s so great that Hillary - a hardened power-mad socialist boosted by a complicit media - was not elected.

If the Media is using 1984 as a anti-Trump film, then I'm giving them a total "F" on the book report.

INGSOC (English Socialism) and Nazi-ism (German Socialism) are being equated to "Make America Great Again"-ism?

Modern education in its full glory - sheesh.

It has gotten difficult to present a rational argument to modern psychotic liberalism - just not enough to work with.

So,so ironic. I hope libs turn out en masse to view 1984. Maybe a small fraction of them will be open minded enough to become enlightened.

As mentioned many times in this forum, the Left uses 1984 as an instruction manual. They’re just brushing up.
