After weeks of preening and outfit preparation, racegoers were more than ready to let their hair down as soon as they hit Aintree today. Thousands of glamorous revellers flocked to the Merseyside course, dressed to the nines, in the hope of winning the much-coveted style award on Ladies Day. Once again, the champagne was flowing and attendees got the party started by treating themselves to numerous bottles of Moet, rosé wine and pints of beer at the bar.
