Next Tuesday will see a "special election" in the Georgia, 6th CD, a race between 18 candidates, 11 Republicans & 7 Democrats. If there is a clear winner, she or he must achieve at least 50% of the ballots cast.
This seat was vacated by Congressman, Tom Price, a Republican, appointed to the Trump Administration.
It will be at best, a messy matter, but, The Republicans must do everything they can, to make certain a runoff occurs and they hold onto the seat.
Bottom line is: every single Republican, Conservative and Independent voter must turnout for this gig in massive numbers. I certainly hope that Ronna Romney McDaniel (RNC) & House Speaker, Paul Ryan, along with the POTUS, etc., urge a large turnout, in order to defeat the Democrat Party, whoever their candidate is!!!
Remember...folks....the clear objective is the defeat and destruction of the hate, Anti-American, Democrat low life!!! Forget who is running...just vote to destroy the entire criminal Obama, Rice, Lerner, Clinton, Jarrett, etc., gang of felons known as the Democrat Party. Voting for any Democrat will lead to the end of the American Republic, IMHO!!!
Well with THAT many people running, no one is going to hit 50%.
The Georgia Republican Party Leadership screwed this all up. Allowing so many Republican candidates dilutes any chance of victory. What ever happened to leadership from “cigar smoke room” world with persuasive arm-twisting? Did Price pass his baton to one of the group?
Nightmare scenario is this:
Dem #1 - 12%
Dem #2 - 11%
Rep #1 - 10%
Rep #2 - 10%
Rep #3 - 9%
Everyone else - 49%
The seat goes to the winner of the runoff between Dem #1 and Dem #2, and the GOP loses the seat.
They call the GOP the “Stupid Party” for a reason.
The objective is to ensure that none of the five Dem candidates get at least 50% of the total vote. The more Reps that turn out to support their candidate, the better. The top two vote getters will run in June.
No one is going to get 50%+ of the vote on April 18.
There will thus be a run-off in June between the top GOP vote-getter and Ossoff.
The Republican will win, and it won't even be that close (around double digits).
Ossoff will do better than most Democrats in this district, because he has a war chest of millions of dollars, while most Democratic Party House candidates in recent GA-6 history didn't have any money or name ID, and were frankly just token opposition.
The mainstream media pundits and Leftist blogs will say that Ossoff's "close" loss is evidence of Republicans being in trouble in 2018.
There, now you can stop paying attention to this race.
Who supports President Trump?
Ossoff appears to be the main Dem candidate and the person who has raised the most money, i.e., $8.3 million for a primary--an apparent record! He has the endorsements of Reps. John Lewis and Hank Johnson as well as some other party leaders. It is doubtful that any of the other Dems will come close to receiving the numbers of Ossoff. The Dems would like him to get 50% of the vote and eliminate the need for a runoff.
"In just one week, Ossoff has stalled on the ballot, and most importantly, he is now underwater with more voters viewing him unfavorably (38% favorable, 47% unfavorable). This is a large swing from last week when he was +17 (43% favorable, 26% unfavorable)," Republican pollster Greg Strimple wrote, in a polling memo he prepared for CLF.
The 11 Rep candidates will, no doubt, be distilled down to a few who will garner the majority of the Rep votes.
Former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel was the initial GOP favorite among the 18 total candidates vying to replace Tom Price, who resigned to serve as Trump's health secretary. Now Handel finds herself targeted with a six-figure attack ad from the conservative Club for Growth, which is casting her as just another big-spending politician.
Washington-based Club for Growth has endorsed Handel's rival Bob Gray. The wealthy technology executive models his pitch after Trump, pledging to be a "willing partner" for the billionaire president. In one TV spot, Gray dons hip waders and literally drains a swamp, a reference to Trump's catchphrase.
The national Republican Party isn't taking sides, but has 15 staffers in Georgia and a paid advertising campaign encouraging the district to "vote Republican." Party officials say they want to stoke Republican turnout to drive up the majority threshold Ossoff would need to win a primary outright.
If I lived there, I think my vote would be for Bob Gray...but I don’t live there...
Handel, Hill and Gray are RINO opportunists.
Oh, by the way, I am in the Georgia Sixth and would like to remind everyone that this was Newt Gingrich’s district. Gerrymandering has changed it some since then.
A Republican will prevail in a runoff.
What places are in 6th CD?.............
That’s why Liberals are in love with this concept of “instant runoff voting”.
