I covered this song because it is freaking awesome. No other reason needed.

Hopalong Ginsberg Ping List
FReepmail me to get on or off the Hopalong Ginsberg Ping List.
Thanks! Hope this one isn’t the combo breaker. ;^)
If I were to buy a another man a gift, it would be a firearm or a socket wrench set.
Ouch.
Your MIDI player doing the melody sounds like bagpipes made from a harp seal. Without skinning the seal...
Not bad at all.IMO this is a true classic (at least as done by Joan Baez) and it’s hard to cover classics. But now, having seen the video,I’ll think of this song as one that you listen to during an LSD trip.
Was that the song Joan Boaz sang about her ex, David Harris, who had gone to prison for resisting the draft?
Thanks!
It’s supposed to sound like bagpipes.
It’s the song she sung about her ex, Bob Dylan, who had gone with a woman other than her. Eat your heart out, Taylor Swift.
Historical accuracy achieved.
Not a big fan of Joan Baez but this was her best song. Her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame speech was awful bur she sang with Mary Chapin Carpenter. 5 hour induction ceremony. I only made it Journey. Right before the inmemoriam. If it is still on periscope great if not so be it.

Politics aside, Joan Baez has a fantastic voice, even today.
Besides the hit “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down”, I used to like her version of “Joe Hill”. I loved her gospel phrasing of it, till I learned that “Joe Hill” was one of the Communist Anthems. Oops!
Of course some say the exact same thing about John Lennon’s “Imagine.”
Mr. Hoplalong Ginsberg; You music is not my favorite style, but don’t stop. Many here do love what you produce. You have your own style, you’re an artist having fun, taking risks and giving
pleasure to others. I am a visual artist, but presently, with no studio, no real privacy, I have not felt inspired to make it happen. You, on the other hand are still living it.
So I stop by, hear your work and am inspired. “He’s still at it!”
Haha, we’re all good, bro. Keep it up.
I thought it Tuvan throat singing dubs.
Then you succeeded magnificently. Well done!
(Not the biggest bagpipe fan out there... < BG >)
