ACRAMENTO, Calif. - California health inspectors have linked last week's botulism outbreak -- a rare and sometimes fatal form of food poisoning -- to a nacho cheese sauce traced back to a mom-and-pop gas station in Walnut Grove, CBS Sacramento reports.
State and county health officials have confirmed nine people have been hospitalized, including possibly a 16-year-old. Five cases were first reported on May 5. This week four more people have become sick.
CBS News reports a tenth person is being tested after showing similar symptoms related to the rare and potentially fatal illness.

Possibly??? Why not say, "possibly a 16 hour old" for dramatic effect? A 16 year old gets sick from gas station cheese and it's a national tragedy. A 16 year old has a baby dismembered, sucked from her body, and sold for parts...nothing to see here. Hypcocrisy!
One of the rules I live by is “never eat food from a gas station”.
I usually get cheesy nachos at the gas station when they are out of sushi.
I’m so hungry I could eat a sandwich from the gas station.
I usually settle for the fugu when I fill up.
Gee, and I thought that stuff was good for you.
Yeah, and I'd like to make that guy Gus eat about 2 gallons of it.
worked at an AM/PM years ago. learned that the most unhealthy place to make food is in back at a gas station...I would never trust a place that sold gas and decided to do food prep on the side. unless they treat the food prep as a separate entity from the gas station. it is a recipe for food poisoning mixing the two. when I worked at the gas station. The employees have a tendency to not be concern about the sanitary condition of the food prep area. I am surprised we did not kill some one from the food we prepared.
Wait you said they sell bait....
“There goes Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives...
Yeah, and I’d like to make that guy Gus eat about 2 gallons of it.”
DD&D is sort of like watching a medical science project...

When I departed for boot camp daddy told me (in strict confidence) to “never order food at a strip club” and I never have.
The lines were long and active at the restrooms...
My guess is that this is queso fresca- popular in the Mexican community and sometimes literally made in someone’s bathtub.
That’s a good rule to live by too.
