Thanks for the information. I did look at the original broadcast of the Naudlet tape. It shows the cameraman seeing firemen with Judge’s body at the base of the escalator. He notes that the collar was removed so they could check for pulse, which one would think would happen immediately upon finding a body. No more information than that.

I recall hearing that too, but then I figured that they just made a mistake.

Didn’t think about them sanitizing it.

One account on the internet claimed he was inside the building and implied that he got injured in there, I think when the building collapsed, which made no sense cause nobody inside the building was taken out in one piece.

I think sanitizing because all the pictures of falling bodies were removed first, then there were fewer and fewer instances when the towers were shown falling. And the explanation given was that they were saving the feelings of loved ones. But I never trusted that explanation as I can’t get over my rage at the happening and fervently believe that the original horror has to be remembered. The more we forget, the less we’re willing to do to prevent it happening again.

I recently came across a recording of The Howard Stern Show from September 11, 2001. To hear the raw and immediate reactions brought me right back to that morning. I also gained a bit of respect for Howard and his team for that broadcast. (To be clear, this is from a non fan, i.e., me)
