RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. - All he was trying to do was to stop two men who were taking televisions from a South Carolina department store, police said.
Now Duaine Hamilton, 81, is dead, and the local sheriff said he will hold the alleged thieves accountable for Hamilton’s death, WISTV reported.
Hamilton was the Sears’s loss prevention officer at the Midlands, South Carolina, store. He had worked for Sears for 13 years.
Police said Hamilton stood, blocking the two men, who then shoved him to the ground on Aug. 22. He hit his head on the ground and police said that injury caused his death at an area hospital on Aug. 26, WISTV reported.
It was all caught on surveillance video.

I hope it is enhanced because it happened during the commission of a felony. Might even get up to first degree in some states.
I agree, but it ain’t going to happen, it’s not a “Murder 1” type of case.
I see myself as being about half way between being the finest,and the worst,guy who's ever walked the earth.
You don’t really expect these two Black men to work to buy a TV, do you? They never finished high school, in spite of every program that the taxpayers paid for to keep minorities in school. They are victims, you know, never amounting to a damn because of The Man putting them down. But those two strapping Black men were able to beat up an 81 year old man, killing him.
I’d pay to be on that jury.
Murder...Murder One...put 'em down.
Actually, in most states, any death that occurs during the commission of a felony is capital murder. These boys need to hang, and twist in the wind.
