New York Citys LaGuardia Airport has been ranked the worst large airport in the United States, according to a new survey.
The notoriously unpopular facility, which is located in Queens, came in last among 21 airports in its category.
Even more surprising is that LaGuardia came in last despite this year having an all-time high traveler satisfaction rating.
The ranking was conducted by JD Power and asked about customer experiences.
New Yorks other major airport also scored noticeably low it was ranked fourth worst among the countrys mega airports.
Among those that also received a poor score were Newark Liberty International in New Jersey, Los Angeles International and OHare International in Chicago.
The main reason passengers gave for their poor ratings had to do with poor infrastructure which people said they found disruptive.

I must have high tolerance or the survey is off. LGA never bothered me. Now PHL (Philadelphia International) is another story.
When I go there to see my team play the Mets LaGuardia is convenient.
I took all my international flights out of Dulles so I wouldn’t have to hop into a NY airport.
My most hated was Los Angeles followed by Chicago. I would say that Minneapolis was also one of my least favorites as no matter where I was flying I would have to walk all the way from one end to the other to get to my connecting flight.
LaGuardia is a great airport. It’s my preferred airport. In fact it’s the preferred airport of most people I know who fly into Manhattan. Yes it’s small and old. But it’s twenty minutes from the the Empire State Building by cab. It has a plane ever hour to Chicago, Boston and Washington. It takes you 4 minutes from plane to cab. And your bags show up.
This story is for airports that are not up to date. But it’s not the worst at all for the airport that serves the customer. In that respect it’s the best in New York and one of the best in the country next to Reagan in DC and Love in Dallas.
This story was written to get more federal money into LaGuardia for aviation and employee upgrades. But from a traveler point of view, it’s the best.
When I was flying a lot, I hated SFO. Weather very unpredictable. Denver ok, but always a long distance between gates.
I always liked London Heathrow, in spite of the tight security. Once I arrived for my flight 3 hours early, because the people I was with were going to LA, on a flight 2 hours before mine to SF. Security was nice about it, but they looked at every item in my luggage, including the used underwear, with me present.
LHR seriously SUX
Denver is useless in the Wintertime though. Also dont like that connecting flights are usually at the opposite ends of their long long airport. Especially if you fly United. Its awful.
Ill route through Sky Harbor in PHX to avoid DEN.
Compare that level of intrusiveness to the airport scene in Ocean’s 11 where Dean Martin meets up with Curley Jackson. Sad.
Make that Curly Steffins.
LaGuardia is a dump. It’s only redeeming feature is it’s proximity to Manhattan.
I agree with you.
La Guardia, no issues at all. Philly...not one of my favorites, that’s for sure.
LAX isn't even on the list of the 21 . . . now there is a pit of a third world airport. If you connect from/to and international flight, you have to schlep all of your luggage onto a shuttle bus from/to the Tom Bradley Terminal at the apex of their stupid horseshoe to/from the appropriate domestic terminal. I've been to no other international airport in the world with an arrangement so stupid.
Can see why Newark made the list having flown often out of there
Last time pilot was riffing on how slow (and stupid) the
ground people were when taxiing plane to gate and extending
Jetway.......
Oh how I know it just flying into LGA (La Garbage as we call it). I hate having to RON (remain over night) in our designated motel.
I've flown out of SUX many times. Park 100 steps from the terminal, friendly staff, short walk to the gate.
The airport tried to get its 3 letter code changed. But wasn't happening. So they embraced the SUX, so to speak.
LAX was OK, except for outdated design - no updates to accommodate modern security, and no modern transit to town- although the bus was OK. DFW also suffered from outdated design, but at least they are putting in effort to modernize it one terminal at a time. Unlike MCI in Kansas City - probably one of the worst airports out there. Given the low traffic levels, it wouldn't cost that much to upgrade one of the terminals (and close the others.
It's where they stick the tube when the whole system needs an enema.
Love Laguardia ...easy-peasy to get to and from on public transit ...Montclair N.J. to LGA.......90 minutes and $12.00
You are correct, been there a number of times. I did not mean to insult Sioux City.
LHR seriously sux.
