Vanity - NFL Commissioner & NFL Team Owners, what say you now?

Posted on 09/28/2017 6:09:55 AM PDT by JLAGRAYFOX

What say you now, Roger Goodell, Team Owners & Players? If you folks have any brains at all, you will all go public ordering and instructing all of your employees, the football players, that they will immediately stand with their right hands covering their heart,s "no locking of arms while standing", as the American flag is displayed and the National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner" before game time.

And, Roger Goodell and all thirty team owners and all players will publicly and verbally apologize to all the American people, and most importantly with humble, dignified, manner, apologize to POTUS, Donald J. Trump, for their uncalled for, hateful disregard for the American flag, The National Anthem, The American Military, The American people and the Nation itself.

Anything less will not be accepted. You all opened your foul, lie telling, mouths, before you engaged your brains, now you must fall on your own swords or forever be hated by the overwhelming majority of American citizens. Your choice football player deadbeats!!!

I know it is too late. But...any little thing I can do to stick a knife in the heart of the “TRAITOR/TURNCOAT” NFL, NBA & MLB, makes me feel better.

When I think of the Tuskegee “Red Wing” African-American Aviators flying P51 Mustang fighter aircraft to protect and defend B17 bomber attacks on Germany, etc. and The famed African-American artillery platoon that was captured by the NAZIs and then abruptly slaughtered because they were Black, and all the African-Americans that fought and some died in all the wars America has ever fought, I want to fire every one in the NFL From roger Goodell on down!!! These NFL Buffoons should hand their heads in shame. POTUS Trump is right on the money.

Keep on winning Mr. POTUS Trump...MAGA!!!

The NFL, Starbucks, JCPENNEY and others are failing because they selected leaders with an agenda that does not put the corporation they work for first.

I don't think there's anything they can say. When a fan sits out 2 Sundays in a row the mystique is gone.
I went through this when Jones bought the Cowboys and now the NFL is just boring.

My guess is that these Anti America cretins and scumbags will double down on their total disrespect for real Americans,

Exposing their vicious ANTI-AMERICANISM (in EVERY sense of t he phrase) was not a very wise business plan. Clearly the clods on the field share virtually ALL the bigotry of their ‘masters’ wearing the ‘suits’.

Well, now we know, don’t we?

The NFL is a league held hostage by its employees, 72% of whom are black and who have a social agenda far different than the public at large. Just as the OJ Simpson trial revealed a wide gulf between blacks and the society as a whole, there are major cultural differences and perceptions between blacks and the public. The same holds true for the NBA.

The owners are frightened by the employees who can destroy their business. It started in earnest when DeMaurice F. Smith became the head of the player’s union in 2009. Smith served in DOJ as Counsel to then-Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder. Smith’s ties to Obama and Holder have enabled him to become what amounts to being the community organizer of the NFL. As Executive Director, Smith has emphasized that players need to take more control of their careers, educate themselves, and be more involved in the process. The next player collective bargaining agreement will be in 2021. You can expect more demands from the players including social justice issues.

There is a price to pay when you own a business that depends overwhelming on a demographic group that has an activist social agenda. It becomes more and more difficult to separate sport from politics. Right now, the MSM and the Left are fine with that. The question will be whether the marketplace will continue to go along with the politicization of the NFL and NBA or will there be a revolt by the fans who pay the bills. The huge television contracts fuel both leagues (the revenue from actual fan attendance at the games is not that important), but the networks are dependent upon advertisers paying huge amounts of money to buy commercials.

I wouldn’t have canned Goodell after Kapernick kneeled. I would have canned Goodell after Kapernick kneeled and Goodell did nothing about it!

The United States Code is a consolidation and codification by subject matter of the general and permanent laws of the United States.

Here is U.S. Code 36 regarding the conduct of citizens during the playing of the national anthem.

§301. National anthem
(a) Designation.—The composition consisting of the words and music known as the Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem.
(b) Conduct During Playing.—During a rendition of the national anthem—
(1) when the flag is displayed—
(A) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note;
(B) members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute in the manner provided for individuals in uniform; and

(C) all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and

(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.

(Pub. L. 105–225, Aug. 12, 1998, 112 Stat. 1263; Pub. L. 110–417, [div. A], title V, §595, Oct. 14, 2008, 122 Stat. 4475.)

Is the NFL exempt from our laws?

The NFL forgot they are not the NBA. The NFL's fan base is actually quite Conservative, and this "stunt" will start to erode the general fan base of the league VERY fast.

The league offices--though they'll never publicly admit it--better PRAY that the main owners of DraftKings and FanDuel don't say something to offend the NFL fans. Because if the main owners of these two daily fantasy sports sites support the NFL, it would result in MASSIVE cancellation of accounts with these two companies and the result could be a steep falloff of interest in the league.

The NFL’s game book says basically the same thing.

But when you bring it up to liberals (I have) they point out that it is just guidelines and you are not breaking any laws.

However, that misses the point. It’s not illegal for a married man to have an affair. That doesn’t make it a-ok.

I would accept locking arms, hand over heart singing the national anthem. They can show their team unity while clearly showing respect for the flag and national anthem.

U.S. laws trump any rule book.

Don't forget this really isn't about the National Anthem - it is an anti-police, BLM protest! They are showing unity for kaepernick and his original statements. The media, and the NFL, are trying to convince us all that once they begin standing for the Anthem again all will be forgiven - but every team member and owner who stood arm in arm, or knelt together, was spitting in the face of every law enforcement officer in this country.

Their buzzword - inequality - is about their treatment by the police.

My 88 year old mother did not watch any NFL games last weekend. When SHE doesn’t watch, you know the NFL is in big trouble.
