Did he steal that too?
According to the arrest affidavit, the 25-year-old said, “I am just trying to get gifts for my son that I cannot afford. The computer is for my husband. Since he just got me a Coach purse, I figured he deserved something nice as well.
...
I wonder if he used the same tactic for the purse.
Don’t her excuses make her sound like a Democrat?
I’m gonna pop some tags
Only got 20 dollars in my pocket
I, I, I’m hunting, lookin’ for a come-up
This is f....... awesome
I'd hope that Loss Prevention also found the keyholder who aided and abetted in the attempted theft and that conspiracy charges are added for both.
My ex worked as a manager at one of the big stores. She once caught a woman doing something similar. The woman went to the toy section and picked up a big box that had a trike in it. She took the trike out of the box and filled it with DVDs and CDs and tried to check out and pay $29 for it. My ex caught her at the register, but security let her leave the merchandise and walk out without calling the police.
“I am just trying to get gifts for my son that I cannot afford.”
Oh well, that’s understandable then
A self-checkout counter.
My local Walmart installed them, and almost immediately removed them. Maybe this kind of activity was the reason.
A semi-intelligent checkout person would know that a computer doesn’t cost a couple of dollars.
Yada Yada Yada, I gifts for my son that I cannot afford.
Wonder how one would defend themselves if someone took something to clearance, swapped the barcode and then another person bought the item thinking it was in clearance? If it sat there for awhile, there may not be video.

I feel like the name Cheyenne is very often associated with out-of-legal-parameters type behavior. Just a passing observation. It might be the white version of Laqueshia.
I worked retail many years ago. People would take bra boxes and panties in the dressing room, change out of their filthy stuff, put the new stuff on and place their dirty stuff back in the boxes.
Sometimes those things were pretty raw smelling if you know what I mean.
1. They caught a guy with one of those huge outdoor trashcans packed full of everything from electronics to medicine. Close to $5,000 worth as I recall. He paid for the empty trashcan, then told the cashier he forgot something and went back into the store, after he filled up the trashcan he handed the door greeter the original receipt, the only thing that tipped her off she said was that he had packed the plastic trashcan so full, the sides were literally bulging out in place.
2. This elderly man would come to the store about once a week, go back to the shoe section, put on a brand new pair of shoes, put his old shoes in the box, tear off the tags and walk out the door. Funny thing was, they new exactly who was doing it, but could never catch him in act.
3. This was back when both music and video games came in those little square "CD jewel boxes". Close to 100 of the newest games and music CD were coming up missing every week. Loss Prevention knew it was internal theft because they were missing directly from "the cage" (the backroom storage area for high value, small items) and they also knew it had to be happening during nightly restocking as that was the only time the cage was open. They tried everything, pat down searches, going through lunch boxes etc. and nothing. Then one evening one of the loss prevention officers noticed that this one stockman always had a couple of foil wrapped sandwiches left in his luchbox at the end of every shift. Sure enough, when he told him to open the foil, he found five CD cases between two slices of bread, so it would feel like a sandwich if anybody casually squeezed it.
Unfortunately she is white, so she’s still fair game for prosecution (i.e., low risk arresting her).
I don’t understand why they arrested her. She used the exact same reasoning as is offered for why we should permit millions of illegals to stay unchallenged and even supported in our country. She just wanted a better life for herself and her family.
Some women would place it between their knees and walk out paying nothing
Generally items are cross checked with weights against prices and item
Back 50 years ago or so I watched an adult relative do this at a store. Back then it was easier to switch price tags. I was appalled. I had no idea an adult would actually do such a thing.
