Lesbian all woman fantasy town is an “old fashioned western "with a contemporary edge." Those are the key qualifiers that I knew would make this a real stinker.

“Lonesome Dove” it is so good, I DID buy the DVDs. Money really well spent.
“Return to Lonesome Dove” was pretty good, too, but didn’t have the same chemistry as LD without Gus McCrae.

“Open Range” is really good, too. Quite the interesting story about a wagon load of Chinese prostitutes in the old west.

Many, many refugees from Harvey Weinstein. The next town over is made up of guys who escaped Kevin Spacey.

LOLOL! Beautiful.

OK, what happens when the two towns get together for a square dance?

When I lived in Arizona, I really enjoyed reading Zane Grey. For some reason, particularly remember “Under the Tonto Rim,” his book published in 1926 (maybe because I was enamored with the “Mogollon Rim” near where I lived). The book tells the story of a young lady, Lucy Watson, the daughter of a saloon-keeper. After her father’s death Lucy takes a newly created position as Welfare Instructor among a community of backwoods people in Arizona. Not your normal Zane Grey or Louis L’Amour western book. Maybe that’s what makes it special.

Open Range wasn't the western about the Chinese prostitutes. You're thinking about Broken Trail.

Both films starred Robert Duvall however.

Thanks...that was nagging me, but I went with it without checking. Duvall was fantastic in all the westerns he made. I also like all the westerns made by Tom Selleck.

Some blu-ray players can connect to Netflix, once you’ve registered online.
