France's most revered actress Catherine Deneuve hit out Tuesday at a new "puritanism" sparked by sexual harassment scandals, declaring that men should be "free to hit on" women.
She was one of around 100 French women writers, performers and academics who wrote an open letter deploring the wave of "denunciations" that has followed claims that Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein raped and sexually assaulted women over decades.
They claimed that the "witch-hunt" that has followed threatens sexual freedom.

"Instead of helping women, this frenzy to send these (male chauvinist) 'pigs' to the abattoir actually helps the enemies of sexual liberty -- religious extremists and the worst sort of reactionaries," the collective of women who signed the letter said.

It’s from the tv show “Seinfeld”. One character’s father bragged it was his patented “move” (he used it on his wife when they were dating). He would be driving with the woman in the passenger seat, then brake hard at a stop, while extending his arm across to “shield” the woman from flying into the dashboard/windshield (and copping a feel at the same time).
Really? I read an article back when he was on about his choice of wives. Brunettes named Joanne or the like.
Then again, he did have Carol Wayne on a lot.

There’s a big difference between being hit on and being raped. With feminists, in their twisted minds, there is no difference.
So true. It appears that a lot of women understand that and they want to disassociate themselves from this kind of feminist rhetoric. Unless I just woke up from a coma, women generally still would prefer for a man to show some interest and initiate a conversation or give a compliment.
