“I offer my deepest condolences to you and the entire Cuban nation over the death of your brother, the leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro.

The name of this remarkable statesman is rightfully viewed as a symbol of a whole era in modern history. Free and independent Cuba built by him and his fellow revolutionaries has become an influential member of the international community and serves as an inspiring example for many countries and peoples.

Fidel Castro was a sincere and reliable friend of Russia. He made a tremendous personal contribution to the establishment and progress of Russian-Cuban relations, close strategic partnership in all areas.

This strong and wise man always looked into the future with confidence. He embodied the high ideals of a politician, citizen and patriot who wholeheartedly believed in the cause, to which he devoted his life. Russians will always cherish his memory in their hearts.

In this mournful hour, I ask you to pass on my words of sympathy and support to all members of your family. I wish you courage and tenacity as you face this irreparable loss.

Castro hoisted nothing but misery, murder and starvation on the Cuban people for 60 years. How any national leader could show condolences is beyond me. They should be taking a whiz on his grave for all to see.

Some even typed “God bless Putin” last year.

I threw up.

Yes, he DID keep the fight alive in Syria until Trump came on the scene and he DID kill a lot of ISIS folks.

And I AM GLAD.

But he didn’t do it for us.

Stalin had 120 divisions thrown at him in WWII. We had 80 to deal with.

I’m glad 120 were thrown at Russia and they defeated the Germans but I dont like stalin and God never blessed him.

Stalin was just as responsible for starting the war as Hitler.

And the Russian Revolution did just as much to spawn the hellish events of the 20th Century — and ended up taking millions more victims than Nazism.

This was two years ago.

So I guess this is supposed to garner public support to go to war with Russia? Because, Russia is bad, bad, bad...

I see reports that Tillerson all of a sudden says it’s now US policy to overthrow Assad in Syria, which would bring us closer to war with Russia by the way.

The NeoCon nutjobs can stick it.

You need to do more research, sister.

Nobody ‘worships’ Putin. Get a grip.

Stalin was just as responsible for starting the war as Hitler.

Stalin was counting on a long war of attribution in the West between Britain, France and Germany, as in WWI. What he didn't count on was France falling without much of a fight, which kept the British and German armies largely intact, and Germany strong enough to try to invade the Soviet Union. Stalin was hoping for a few more years to build the Red Army back up, after the 1938 Purges, that's why he went out of his way to not provoke the Germans, despite the intelligence telling him an attack was imminent.

You’ve allowed your disillusionment with President Obama to get the best of you and can’t even adjust to the new reality. Go fight for Russia then. Against your evil Neo-con nation.

Russia is just paying lip service....I think of this exchange from one of my all-time favorite movies, “One, Two, Three”....

C.R. MacNamara: Cigarette? Cigar?

Peripetchikoff: Here, take one of these.

C.R. Macnamara: Thanks. Hm, ‘Made in Havana’.

Peripetchikoff: We have trade agreement with Cuba. They send us cigars, we send them rockets.

C.R. Macnamara: Good thinking.

C.R. MacNamara: You know something? You guys got cheated. This is a pretty crummy cigar.

Peripetchikoff: Do not worry. We send them pretty crummy rockets.

Putin is a tin pot dictator and always will be.

He is a strongman with a weak mind.

He could drag Russia out of this state, but is nestled into his ColdWar KGB mentality, from which he will never escape.

Russia suffers !

You totally misunderstood what I meant.

But then again that’s par for the course for Common Core Republicans like yourself.

I love Betsy Devos, I don’t know which Common Core you’re speaking of. And I was not educated in the public school system thank you very much and have lived in Russia.

It will become yet increasingly more obvious in time that the Russian leaders are trying to put the Soviet Union back together again. If they see no other way, they’ll enlist more of their Islamist ally nations to help them do so. Oh...they’ve already been doing that and with a view to take the Mediterranean coast including Israel.

You mean The Russian Empire....Let's not forget that Russia has been like this long before the Bolsheviks came onto the scene.

Exactly and unfortunately, Putin had the full support of the Russian people in this endeavor but that was when they were still riding the high of favorable oil prices ...economic forecasts were just beginning to look bad - when, just in time, Putin annexed Crimea and fanned the flames in East Ukraine.

Now they’re paying the consequences under sanctions, deteriorating living standards, the sting of faker-than-fake “elections,” police state raids in theaters, and all kinds of new restrictions on free speech, assembly, and even Christian worship outside of state-sanctioned Orthodox Churches is facing crackdowns.
