I have been following the TIANGONG 1 on satview and it just started flashing. It went from time to reenter to re-entry window. Could change though but this is the first time I have watched it go into a re-entry window.
Tin foil covered hard hats on!!
I know. I'm just tired of Americans being so willing to be Euro-fied.
2. In June 1979, as the crash approached, Skylab-inspired parties and products were all the rage in the United States.
The imminent crash of Skylab midway through 1979 coincided with Americans declining confidence in their government. The stagnant economy and a second oil crisis dropped Congress approval rating to just 19 percent that year. Perhaps its no surprise, then, that many people took an irreverent view of the demise of Skylab, a government project.
The Associated Press reported several instances of Skylab parties occurring across the United States. In St. Louis, Missouri, the Skylab Watchers and Gourmet Diners Society announced plans to view Skylabs last orbit during a garden gathering at which hard hats or similar protective headgear were required.
The Charlotte, North Carolina, News-Observer reported that a local hotel designated itself an official Skylab crash zone (complete with painted target) and was holding a poolside disco party. Mocking NASAs inability to say precisely where Skylab would land, entrepreneurs across the country sold T-shirts emblazoned with large bullseyes.
Another enterprising individual took a different tack and sold cans of Skylab repellent.
I’m sure they have better than that for non-orbital objects.
This thing is going 17,515 mph.
Oh, noooee....were ALL GONNA DIE!

“Oh, noooee....were ALL GONNA DIE!”
Nope. Just you.
The crash announcement may be premature. From UK Express: “2.00am: The Tiangong-1 soars over the Sahara Desert.
The Chinese space station is currently flying over the Sahara Desert in Afria. It is believed the station is traveling at a height of around 134 kilometres.
Don’t you just love being Euro-fied? They’re so much more refined than us ‘muricans.
Not me. I have my tin foil hat on.
There is an old rusty boiler or water tank rotting away in the desert near here, been there for years, that has “Skylab” painted on the side.
I remember in the Navy nuclear program having to learn both English and Metric. If find the latter easier to this day for science and engineering.
Earlier this week I got the BSOD! I think it’s a sign!
I hope they are just being safe in Michigan...
Someone cue up the Belushi SNL piece where he rants about Skylab falling.
I refuse to be Euro-fied, rejected the metricifacation of the U.S. back in the 1970s (noticed all the metric road signs are gone now), and to this day reject any metric measurements, cause, I am a ‘murican, not a Euro weenie.
The Oklahoma cowboy/humorist?
I think you mean Buck Rogers....
I think he meant Will Robinson from the old TV show Lost In Space.
Michigan USA EMERGENCY Operations Centre ACTIVATED for IMMINENT space station CRASH
THE Tiangong-1 space station could crash land in Michigan causing the Governor to activate the Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) to monitor the plummeting 8.5-tonne object which could strike anytime from today to April 2, it has been revealed.

Chinese space station: Debris that does land could contain hydrazine
According to information from Governor Rick Snyder, the 8.5-tonne space station could land along a strip of the US from northern California to Pennsylvania which includes the southern lower portion of Michigan.
Deputy State Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and commander of the Michigan State Police Captain Deputy State Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and commander of the Michigan State Police said: While the chances are slim that any of the debris will land in Michigan, we are monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond quickly if it does.
The state will rely on its existing satellite reentry response and recovery plan for any necessary response protocols.
I lived out of the country for a long time and had to use Metric. Now that I’m home I use what is easiest for the job. Think of it as “Spanglish” where the word that best fits the situation pops out. :)
Anything requiring “mass” in the calc is best done Metically.
