Piers Morgan used a series of tweets Monday to call for a ban on all semi-automatic guns and stress his conviction that “no civilian needs one.” His call for a ban on semi-automatic firearms was followed by other tweets in which he told Americans that the Second Amendment was never intended to protect an individual right to keep and bear arms. Rather, it was only intended to protect militias members’ ability to be armed.

Hey I think the National Desth Service is a disastrous failure and charging people a tax on each TV they buy to pay for a national broadcaster.....one which pushes extremely politically biased content is fascist. I’m sure the Brits care just as deeply about what I think of their policies in their own country.

I guess Mr. Morgan doesn’t want to bother reading up on his own country’s history in that permits for legally acquiring shotguns were not required until 1967 and that before that time, violent crime was very extremely low in the United Kingdom. As modern gun controls were introduced (after Hungerford and later Dunblane), violent crime began to stand head and shoulders above the pre 1967 rates.
Piers is a mere subject. We are citizens. Our government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed, rather than from the divine right of kings, and we will never consent to disarmament.
