Was this one of the first examples of using old footage to make the actor still seem alive? John Wayne died in 1979 and I’m sure this commercial was much later than that.
My boys and I watched Full Metal Jacket a few days before he died. He was brutal.
My wife thought the opening scene of Full Metal Jacket with Ermey was way overboard. I hasten to tell her not really. Neither was the Duke teaching a young marine how to use a rifle and bayonet in Sands of Iwo Jima. You learn or die. NCO’s are your life line, hopefully you have the best.
