Yesterday I was buying 2 large bags of Purina dog chow at WalMart for my dogs Shadow and Lady.
I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
What did she think, that I had an elephant?
Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that No, I didn’t have a dog - that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn’t because I ended up in the hospital last time.
On the bright side though, I’d lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.
(I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)
Horrified, She asked : “Did you end up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned you?”
I said: No not at all; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to lick my rear and a car hit me.
The guy behind her was laughing so hard, I thought he was going to have a heart attack!
Kind of a shame to kill it as Swordfish are not terribly plentiful around U.S. shores. I realize Australia may be different.
Yeah. Swordfish used to be MUCH bigger, but overfishing has caused the U.S. catches to be pathetically small.

Just compare the length and girth of the fish to the angler, who looks like he might weigh close to 300 pounds.
Happy pre-birthday! I just did my 52nd a few days ago. Your best remedy is to take a South Pacific vacation and spend a week or so in a tropical paradise to forget all about crises of any kind, mid-life or otherwise.
You only need to be 26% taller, wider and thicker to have double the volume, and thereby double the weight.

If your haven’t gotten your first letter from AARP you soon will. That sent my pride and self image into a tailspin. I’m still not sure that I have gotten over it and that was 15 years ago.
At least you can get senior discounts in some places. Sigh...

It was actually very good! I was shocked.
The only thing was that in one scene wear all the guys could have really needed some guns, nobody had any.
But in other scenes they all had rifles in their trucks.
Oh well.
