Kelsey Grammer Says Reproductive Rights Is a ‘Dishonest’ Name for Abortion (Tr)

(Full Title) Kelsey Grammer Stands Up For Life, Says Reproductive Rights Is a ‘Dishonest’ Name for Abortion

We don’t see much common sense coming from Hollywood these days. It’s a place where conservatives have basically been told they aren’t welcome.

However, every once in awhile we see conservatives who aren’t afraid to stand up for what’s right.

Kelsey Grammar is one of those conservatives and he recently sat down for an interview that ended up being a strong defense of the pro-life movement.

Grammer told the Times he has “as much respect for women and women’s issues as possible,” but said that women’s rights are not what is at stake with abortion.

It “gets a bit dishonest to call something reproductive rights when you clearly have a choice well before a baby is conceived,” Grammer noted, which is when reproduction actually happens.

“If someone has to die as a result of rape, then we should kill the rapist – not the unborn child,” he said. “It’s a dicey area, but if you have respect for life, and respect for choice, then you can’t take life away from an infant.”

“Little makes me angry, but injustice does,” he said.

Gotta love it.

It’s not every day you see an actor risk his career with a statement like that.

He’s made a ton of money and likely isn’t worried about losing any jobs. But still. Props.

Don’t forget.

The majority of Americans believe in restrictions to abortion.

From Newsmax:

According to the poll, 76-percent back significant restrictions, including making abortions available only during the first three months of pregnancy, or in the case of rape, incest, or the mother’s life being endangered.

Other results from the survey:

92 percent of Republicans want “significant restrictions.”

78 percent of Independents.

61 percent of Democrats.

60 percent of voters who identify as pro-choice.

63 percent of Americans support a ban on abortions after 20 weeks.

56 percent believe abortion is morally wrong, while 41 percent consider it morally acceptable.

64 percent believe it’s morally wrong in the case of unborn children with genetic issues such as Down syndrome, while 26 percent consider that morally acceptable.

That is an applaudable statement for the Right to Life by Kelsey Grammar.

Chicks on the Right, however, have a poor track record on abortion.

I don’t trust them and it is disgusting when allegedly pro-life people try to portray allowing abortion in the first three months as a pro-life position.

It is not.

It is an abandonment of innocent little preborn babies, to their deaths, for three months.

Vis-a-vis the misnomer “reproductive rights”: “non-reproductive license” would be more accurate - those rights can only merit the modifier “reproductive” if something is being reproduced, and the only things humans can reproduce (as opposed to the more generic “produce”) are other humans, and of course the whole point of abortion is to destroy those reproduced humans.

If Roe vs Wade is overturned as it should be, abortion will in all likelyhood remain legal in most states (a few states might make it illegal I suppose). But.......the voters in the majority of states that allow it will also likely put restrictions on it.....such as one can only have a legal abortion the first trimester.

Other things that might occur is that the government will no longer pay for abortions. This will mean money will have to be privately raised.....which it will be. Hollywood can do telethons and everything to raise abortion money. Doris can throw some coin into the collection tray as well.

Let’s face it. It’s a difficult topic. There are no perfect answers and many of us on some level feel that the mother deserves say in what happens to her body. No mater what, whatever compromise emerges (such as the one I mentioned above), no one will be happy. But, the voters will have spoken and a clear legal position on abortion will emerge. And, that’s how our country works.

He’s always been one or the good guys. Which is why we don’t see the networks screaming to give him a new show. If he was a leftist, he could name his price.

I am a part of you
yet I am different
I was becoming
but I never became
Just a blob of protoplazam inside you
Go ahead and do it
and don’t feel no shame
No need for shame

cause
I’m a choice, not a child
I’m a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

As the scapel pierces me
I forgive you mommy
I know I’ll never see your face
And I’m so sorry that
you never wanted me
just cut me out
there’s no disgrace
there’s no disgrace

It's not difficult at all. Life begins at the moment of conception. At that instant a new human begins life. If it was not a human life then why would you need an abortion?

I also love the women's rights argument. When they throw women's rights out I always like to ask what if the baby is female? That unborn baby is a very young women, what about her rights?

Omg! He’s on my tv screen as we speak. Love the guy. My parents used to live near him on Maui and he was very nice too. Didn’t realize he was that brave!

Isn’t it curious that the left are all concerned about those Thai kids’ life but are pro abortion?

I wish that Kelsey Grammar, James Woods, and the many other conservative actors would band together and start their own production company that hired only conservatives or others who at least were respectful of those who disagree with them, I am sure there are more than we know I am sure who keep quiet in order to work. I am not talking about another “Pureflix” centered on religious movies but one that takes scripts of popular books and just tones down the language and nudity, and leaves out the obligatory homosexual sceen. It would be nice to go to a theater again to see a good movie staring actors I like and respect.

"Choice" has been used as a way to avoid mentioning what it is that people are "choosing."

I have always admired Kelsey.

He is a stand-up guy, and stands up for all the right reasons. I know our changing culture will not allow a show that has decency, decorum and REAL humor to have a place in all this “CONTENT” scramble that exists now, but we lost a healthy, normal appetite for comedy shows. And that is a shame.

Came to his pro-life stance the hard way - lost almost his entire family to tragedy and disaster.

I have one arguement that stops abortion rights believers cold.

‘Suppose your mother had aborted you.’

Works every time. You should see the lloks on their faces.
